for me you have been the highlight of fwd this year, absolutely outstanding sets, so much energy in the crowd when you play
cant wait to see you play there when the mixer is sorted
Thanks man that means a lot to hear from a FWD regular. I do always try to keep the energy levels high as well as playing a wide range of styles etc. If we had a pioneer mixer in there (or anything with a fully working EQ) we'd all be able to be a bit more exciting with the mixing, as it stands it's difficult to ride out a mix if you are playing two bass heavy tracks in unison.

Even if he played his tunes one by one .. start to finish, he'd still be great.

Bet if skream didn't post in this thread .. it would have been dead by now.

real talk. and just to put it out, skream and plastician actually put on the best shows i've ever seen too.

people have bad sets when the equipment frustrates them. when i saw caspa almost a year ago now, he was having a bunch of trouble with jumping on his first few dubs, then he got frustrated and his set kinda went downhill. i saw him again on halloween and it was 100 times better(well minus the cops shutting down the first venue, then the acoustics in the second were just awful). it happens, deal with it. and you only paid 5 bucks to see him, that alone should make you stop yourself before complaining

They seriously need that mixer sorted. I'm all for people holding it up for the analog massive, but that mixer has NO EQ, no grip on the faders, and don't get me started on how awkward it is to set serato up in there. And it aint anythin to do with them having no money, they are just hell bent on keeping it in the club as they are so anti digital in there. For some reason my SL3 box sounds like its running under water when I play on the system there I've had to use my SL2 box the last 2 times I played there (this happens nowhere else in the world, and I cannot explain or troubleshoot where the problem is with the sound so can only put it down to the signal being sent from the turntable cables).

There was a problem with the right deck the week before the skream set in question, and Geeneus had to bring a new turntable to the club so that Gemmy and I could play off Serato properly - when Gemmy tried to play a vinyl half way thru his set the right deck would only come out of the right speaker at about half the volume.

Plastic People is one of my favourite, if not my very favourite club to play in when it's running smoothly. But I can completely sympathise with Skream about the difficulty of playing there lately. They need to get a pioneer mixer in there a bit lively.
The EQs are fucking crazy what's the deal with that? You can hear pretty much no change to them in the booth but is it the same on the dancefloor? That mixer sounds good tho. What model is it? Maybe we should chip in and just buy them some new grips for the faders :D

Ive always thought it looks like a nightmare to play there, not a lot of room and the sweat pouring off your face onto a dodgy mixer isnt ideal

definitely worth bringing your own needles to plastic people

the mixer's weird but it sounds amazing. a night i went to there recently brought in a pioneer mixer and it didn't sound nearly as good

this is what they got in there - http://www.decks.co.uk/products/formulasound/FSM600 - when it's working properly you can't say it's not a good mixer really. i think formula sound work with function one so it makes sense that it'd sound great on that system. it's worth being a bit more active with the volume faders than you would on a mixer with more powerful EQs. would help if the monitoring was a bit more reliable though

there's more bass on the right hand side and a little ledge for you to have a sit down. it's clearly better.

Fair enough, i appreciate that mentality

I wouldnt go as far to say what has been said is slanderous though, its an opinion on one performance. Newspapers report on bad gigs all the time.

Everyone knows Skream throws it down anyway I guess, these things happen to every DJ in the course of their career I imagine.
