It's there for a reason.4. PIRACY (Dubplates, MP3, Software,Link's to piracy sites.):
Threads generally discussing p2p issues and it's online culture are welcomed.
Threads on ANY part of the forum (profiles and sigs included); revealing, hinting or linking to copyrighted software, movies, music or other protected data ;will be handled by the Admin and Moderators in the following methods:
-A forum member posting a signed tune/s without authorization and with the intent to share it casually via yousendit's, senduits, torrent links, or similar methods; will be immediately banned. There won't be any warning or explanation in regards to this.
-If the moderator's or admin's receive complaints in regards to unauthorized tunes in a mix, the mix may be removed from the forum immediately. Forum member's continually posting up unauthorized tune's in mixes will face a loss of forum priviledges and/or an immediate forum ban, the nature of which to be determined on a case by case basis.
-If a thread is full of numerous posts filled with questionable p2p related info it may be deleted outright with a full explanation posted to the thread starter as well as the main forum.
-A thread with only a few posts regarding questionable p2p related info will be edited and left online.
-A thread with p2p related info that generates complaints sent to the Admin or Moderators will be deleted outright. In certain situations the Admin and Moderators reserve the right to do this without explanation.
Names of p2p Networks (Soulseek, Gnutella, Napster, etc) are allowed in normal discussion so long as they DON'T contain ANY specific information as listed below:
-Ripping/Posting Group Names
-Specific Rooms or Discussion Groups
-Torrents or Seed Links and Names
-Directories
-Released/Unreleased Music located on Specifically Named Networks
People continually posting questionable p2p info will be permanently banned from the forum.
DjDick was asking specific warez related questions. If DSF gets shut down (although admittedly highly unlikely) cuz of guys like this, the dubstep community would be at a serious loss.Sharmaji wrote:Folks-- trust me, we're not happy to have to do this, but some ground rules for DSF need to be laid in order to keep this forum in a good legal space.
Basically, under the eye of the laws of most countries, sampling in general does still equal copyright infringement.
DSF can't be involved in copyright infringement.
thus-- threads like the acapellas thread will have to be shut down.
thanks
TeReKeTe, Boomnoise, and the mods.
Extremely unlikely. Even if it did it would not be long till it was reopened. I dont think people need to be that dramatic about this really.futures_untold wrote:

Furthermore, if he'd bothered to do some elementary google searching, he would've avoided looking like a n0(0)b and pissing people off![]()
