Shouldn't this thread be in the ninja hideout? Any way I can't stand it when people say "Innit" it's also a million times more annoying when it is being typed on here

When you think about it, much of UK culture stems from american culture, from tv to music etc and thus has influenced the way youth cultures speak. So my point is that any one taking the piss out of a septic (tank = yank) for using uk slang is in mild danger of being extremly hipoctritical.

Fuckin LOL. After spending 3 or 4 years on UK bass music forums you just pick that slang up and use it for fun.

Then people who dont listen to DNB or Dubstep in america are like wtf. :)

It's like white middle class kids using Jamaican slang. Doesn't bother me but it can be kinda funny at times.

I like cheers... it's a lot more fresh than just saying "thanks" or "thank you."

nice that Hellfire Machina is urbane enuff to have heard it.

Americans that haven't lived in Old Dart or Antipodes should avoid using mate imo
cos they doan appreciate the nuances.

It is, but it does sound funny to hear an american use english slang, it can make you go aye?!! when you hear some one with an american dialect say something typically british. Some terms can cross over and some can't just need to distinguish between those so that we don't laugh at you and you don't laugh at us. The piss my cousins in the states used take out of me whilst I lived there for some of the terms I used, and hell when they did imitate it sure as hell sounded funny the way how they said it.

Moral is... just watch what you using, not every one can pull of poker dots.

Septic tank is london rhyming slang, been around since the 70's. I first heard it as a kid watching Only Fools and Horses.
