TO onelove:

You got me weak, as if I'm suppose to feel hurt maybe. TheThat Skream riddim is way above your status and thats what I was commenting on. Are you one of those parasites that love to hate on something they misunderstand or just plain can't understand? Music happens naturally , music inspires poetry and song.
So let me be on my way and let it be known that this wolf under the username "onelove" is really a :q:

Dub Rap
Posted by Justin Schwartz on June 11th, 2010

Right now there is a phase going around of Dubstep music. Dubstep is a form of electronic music but is not exactly your typical Deadmau5 sound. When you hear it you automatically know what it is. Some people live for it and others can’t stand it. Around 2 months ago at Coachella, I walked into the Sahara tent to find a rapper rapping to this dubstep. Usually I am not a huge fan of it but I can tolerate it so I listened some more. When this artist was rapping to the track the DJ was playing, I really started to like it. This movement of rap plus dubstep, called dub rap is becoming very popular. A lot more people from more than just the dubstep crowd are listening to it and becoming fans of it increasing the dubstep phase to something that will hopefully last longer.

One of my favorite Dub Rap artists is King Fantastic. He is from Venice, California and is releasing a new album that is dropping June 15. King Fantastic has rapped over songs such as “Bass Head” by Bassnectar and “Drive It Like You Stole It” by the Glitch Mob and his list is still growing.

When you hear this type of music, you wonder how people would dance to it at an event. At least I did. I soon learned that dancing to this was not a problem and that it was common for everybody to be dancing like this. One of the many dances is called 2-step.

At EDC this year, I would hope I could see some artist preform this but I’m not sure if any will be in attendance.

I loled hard when I read that. Someone watering down this track by rapping over it at a night out would make me die a little inside. The music speaks for itself, and to anyone who disagrees I hope the dubstep I like doesn't appeal to them.

To quote the man skream himself:
There's not a big MC following in dubstep, it's more about the music which I think is another good thing. Because then it doesn't turn into image, it's not an image thing.

I can see the holy guardians of dubstep are hard at work protecting what they deem as the purest form of there beloved... I guess I'm in the wrong for feeling inspired by who we see as great artists, and wanting to vocalize that.
What some fail to see is that no one is trying to take the instrumental aspect of dubstep away, it is fine the way it is, yet there is always room for innovation.

Mista fox: Its bigger than you too, so no I won't get out.

Dubstep is having a hard time of it over here as it is with regard to taste and style, we do not need anymore of this foolishness.

Please, please, please stop this on-site if you see avid 'rappers' attempting to SHOUT their oh so deep and meaningful lyrics over music of this kind.

Please observe the right for people to tell you to shut the f**k up when you do attempt to regale your tales of the street, or tell everyone how much of a hustlin playa you are.

MCing is an integral part of dubstep and club based electronic music in general. It should be seen as an oppurtunity to enhance the crowds experience not promote your shit rhymes. I know plenty of plenty of good US dubstep MCs who have come up through Hip Hop but have the sense and maturity to leave their record deal dreams and commercial lyrics at the door when they enter the club.

Rap over dubstep sucks. Only time I like rap mixed with dubstep is the short vocal samples (e.g. Lil Wayne's occasional "yeaa" or snippets of Method Man's voice) Skream is right, its more about the music not the image.
