it's simple really, nothing i hear sounds that complexly made.

the trick is the tones (Waveforms) you have at hand ready to use. you can apply a filter cutoff LFO, that will give your wobble, but the trick is to make about 10 different tones first. FM synthesis is the best of this. getting different metallic sounding tones. Then just switch the tones around while having different LFO rate settings (doesn't have to be synced)

then just add your distortion and compression etc.

Everyone seems to be making wobbles, each more stupid and mindless than the last. It's much better to do something original.

If you have some kind of idea behind it, then it's fine, but most people seem to be going for wobble simply because that's what dubstep is perceived to be.

Something like this bass, Yeah y man JUST USE REASON. once you have installed it and shit, learn a few mastering tutorials and then upload a malstrom/subtractor and bit of rewiring .. and use some of the spread on malstrom ;D with any comb and mess around with the freq's and obviously LFO.... but thats all im going to give cause one man's effort is not another mans ease.... well what im trying to say is that im not gonna give up bass easy. but lately with thor and that .. you can punch some datsik bass out of it .. or excision basslines from it if you have the right mastering tricks.

Peace

qft.. I have nothing against fucking hardhitting midrangey tunes (ie Coki bangers) but when people are producing tunes only focusing on making as much "filth" as possible with not many other elements in consideration the results are just TASTELESS

A good way of going about it is making a big standard square wave sound, putting it through Fruity Free Filter and setting it to Low Pass. Right click Frequency/Cutoff and click 'Edit events'. Click the spanner at the top of the window and then lfo. Set the range and value accordingly and set the rate to 1/2 for now. A good idea would be to then play around with your square wave to see how the filter affects it. Don't try to completely recreate the wobble cookie monsta uses. Its almost impossible without knowing what effects he uses. Plus its unoriginal. If you create a sound you like, use it.

Hope this gets you started man. This shit takes a long time to get to grips with. Experiment with different VST's like Ni Massive and Z3ta+ if Sytrus doesn't do it for you.

Hav a look at the funtcase masterclass, their sounds are simular... and cookie does use reason aswell (with the maelstrom and thor vsts i suppose).. i no shit about reason so.. good luck ;)

Idealy you want to be making his sourta drums first, tones of reverb ect.. and then the distorted bass's will fit in.. :i:

that metallic sound is achieved with a short delay, like 16ms
or the chorus/flanger, with the mod turned all the way down, delay turned all the way up or a little less, and then play with the feedback.
but i have no idea how he creates those insane sounds or what he automates in the patch itself.

OP : dunno if im being pertinent here... but whatever sound u want to achieve.. im pretty sure it'll be hardly attainable, considering ur ostensive abuse of brickwall limiting...

ease down on limiting and let the wobble speak... :)
