tbh, its more marketed as a 'do professional sounding music instantly without any effort" tool... and thats after they changed their layout and part of their marketing, apparently cause someone noticed the massive amount of visits coming from here and checked what was going on...

tbh it's all about the end result, no the process. Whether or not Rusko sits in Real World studios recording a 36-piece gamelan w/ schoeps mics thru a fairchild or whether he works on an old copy of acid on a CRT monitor (man i hope he's upgraded), what matters is the quality of tunes-- not how they're made. If this helps push someone who's really creative, but flustered by the process, into creating music-- excellent. Will we get stuck with a deluge of dumbass music from mouth-breathers? Almost certainly.

but we already have that, so i don't see this as being much of a change negatively, but (hopefully) a good tick up for others.

Just think of how much more popular mt. Eden could be if they/he had a template to start from :7:

This exactly. As long as it helps someone along the way, great.
I don't understand the condescending attitude a lot of people seem to have on these forums. Imagine if guitarists would go apeshit over Guitar Pro software, or tell the noobs WHY DONT YOU DO YOUR OWN THING when they ask how to play Stairway to Heaven.

I'm not against learning from other things, this is just bad as it gets. All the words they use to promote their product, its WRONG! Not telling they should not be allowed to sell such things, but beatelite, here's some pwnage for you

Why are you being so stubbornly elitist about this?. And yeah posting up that video and saying "here's some pwanage for you" really shows your mental attitude and age. If people can use this for gain in their skills... then why not?

"this is just bad as it gets" - Really? you think this is worse than all the sh!t you find on youtube???

Its another tool in the belt. Use what you will, I know a lot of people will benefit from this and to be honest it sounds like you need one of these templates yourself ;) (thats a joke, not a personal jibe  )

Or is it ... :o

We could look at this in a good way and know that all these little kids that are going to buy this shit wont be bringing anything new to the table with shitty templates...

the cats out of the bag...
I have been commissioned to make a dubstep template.

Preview it here -
Soundcloud

All made with stock logic plugins/instruments and custom drum hits from my own personal bank.
Just so that you know... Its not a shitty template, its a full song with 30+tracks of midi and audio.
If you like the sound of my music then have a peep at how I made it. This is 100% custom and how i normally write tracks.
I have forthcoming vinyl releases and some hot forthcoming digi releases including a downlink remix and im also soon to remix fused forces.

Just so you lot know, I didn't just throw a track together, I really worked hard and got feedback from some big names to complete the overall sound.

Its all finished and It should be on the site soon. I really want to hear your honest feedback.

I know this may shock most of you, but hey, I believe in good causes

Shoot me down    I can take it!

My opinion, if people as awesome and dedicated as Depone are willing to put time into this; then it's a fucking good thing through and through! I've been to his house and he showed me the template and he isn't fucking about... I think the majority of you have something in there you could learn from it.

Nice track, true to your style... So, could i download this Logic "song" that you made, with all midi and audio, change round a few bits and call it my own? Or is it just the "template" with tracks setting and FX ect.?

Just curious as im one of those that learnt from nothing and i feel i have my own sound, which is important to me.
Not to say that people are gonna be ending up all sounding the same, but its pretty inevitable if people get whole songs to fuck with.

Yeah everything is customisable. Most of it is midi, so re arranging parts isn't going to painful, except I do have some effects and things like risers and random bleeps as audio as well as one of my own made hat loops in audio.
But yeah its mostly around 80% midi. And I have written notes on whats going on whare etc with multi's and routing. Also colour coded mixer and midi/audio regions to clear some bits up.

Yeah you can take anything from it, fully tweakable! Save your own variations of synths, fx chains etc... all that jazz.
Even includes my custom 808 kick sub.

Any questions im happy to answer.

Are you not worried about lots of tracks coming about sounding very similar to this and on top of that, people knowing (and prob using) your own techniques, shortcuts and sounds "my own made hat loops" & "my custom 808 kick sub" ?

:o

I couldn't do that man.
