Seckle, i agree with you, but noone apart from people who have been into this sound for a while/automatically drawn to the more...'thoughtful'(for want of a better word) end of the spectrum is likely to pick up the souljazz and tempa releases.
The point of this compilation, as i see it, is that it is showing the "sound of dubstep" (as it so helpfully says in the title of the cd) in 2010 - and the cd is balanced, in the respect that there is a significant amount of aggy wobble halfstep and mainstream remixes, BUT also shows that there is far more to this sound that everyone seems to be talking about these days. it serves to show everyone that claims to be a 'king of dub' after hearing a tek-one song the colourful, vibrant, mixed history of the sound that we love, and shows the critics saying "eurgh its all just noise" that there is far more to dubstep than metallic noises and cheesy samples. If you look in any shops chart these days, there will be all these aggy songs but then there will be the gems as well, so in that respect it is balanced.
it is also balanced in the sense that its got a share of old and new bits too, and therefore you can see the progression of the sound. Its not just a cash in on the latest hype. Or, at least, its not an obvious, unconsidered cash-in; someone has clearly put some careful thought into the tracklist, the order of songs, and all that jazz, in a way that pushes the listener into hearing the more interesting sounds of dubstep. For example, cd 1 - starts with some baitness and chart stuff, your average joe is listening thinking yer dubstep is really cool. Slips into the brackles remix of day n nite, and they still like it cos its cos that vocal and hook that they know, but the palette is different, more garage influenced, interesting rhythms and subbass. more wobble, then spongebob, which is the definitive wobble. more wobble, but then something garagey from artwork - still got that dubstep essence, the synth could even be described as wobble, but its all different and new. Average joe is confused, but also excited. Bang! hyph mngo - he gets all wet and euphoric, before being hit with anti war dub - for many a coneisuuer (fuck off spelling) this is THE dubstep song to end all dubstep songs, the one for the timecapsule. He notices that digital mystikz is part coki, the one that made that filthy banger from earlier, and he sees that wow, he has been blinded by the wobbles but now the veil has lifted and he knows what dubstep truly means. He slumps back, sweaty, exhausted, but content, to be soothed to the end by the bassweight of shackleton, geiom and martyn.
CD 2 obviously has to start the same way, he'd be getting bored other wise, but will take him on a similar journey through what dubstep has to offer. TL;DR this cd is only a good thing, and ministry, despite the money, the shit trance and the business mind, have shown that they know what they are doing when it comes to dance music, and in particular presenting underground dance music in a easy to swallow way whilst still remaining true to what the music is about.

post count is nothing. quality > quantity

all of my posts reek of excellence, glory and grandeur yet there are so few compared to most..........

yeah, you've also gotta take into account if someones done a bandshell and changed name because their postcount got too high.

though i think generally, date > count.

also, wow its an uncool debate to have.

comparing e-penises is much more entertaining than the bi-daily burialwank or "the scene is being ruined" doomsayering
