I have sold a LOT of "beats" in the Amsterdam hip hop scene - I usually charge 10eu/beat. I've sold at least 100 over the past few years.
I wanna hear some Amsterdam hip hop!! That sounds wicked.

Ive heard French and German hip hop before and it didnt really do anything for me. I liked the beats but a big part of hip hop for me is the lyrics, and not being bilingual meant I couldnt understand a freakin word they were saying.
The reason Amsterdam hip hop sounds so appealing is because most Amsterdammers speak better English than the majority of English people, so I was kind of hoping they might rap in English too......

I haven't made much from music
not anywhere near the amount I've spent
got a little advance from a project I did on One cell which had sony distro channels but that barely covered the amount we were spending on herb and booze

i've got serious stuff in the works. i dont know why so many people here place such little value on what they do? if you treat it like a hobby, you'll be amateur your whole life. it's up to you really.

I have trouble adjusting to European rap... they definately got us in the U.S. with their beats, but we are catching up... but French rap is just weird for me!! In this one Glitch Mob song, called "Crunk de Gaulle" it features two french rappers, one of them is Busdriver (who is AWESOME in every way), the other is some guy I don't know of.... but he says "wi wi" (spelling?) in his rap... as soon as I hear this french guy come on I have to change the song, the language just sounds too pretty and sensual to be in rap music... I'm sorry to anybody on here who is french or likes french rap, but keep the wee wee out it for the sake of the rest of the hip hop around the world...

Problem?
I enjoy not taking it so seriously - plus I'd have to be pretty fucking huge to earn more than I do now.
Let me repeat this again since it has been a while someone said it:
THERE IS NO MARKET FOR DUBSTEP. MAKE HOUSE IF YOU WANT MONEY.

I think a lot of the problems with music today is because people only "dabble" instead of jumping all the way in
gotta be innit to winnit

Gotta disagree with you three, and side with that shirtless hillbilly up there.
I've been making music all my life, I can't avoid it. But if I don't like doing something, fuck it, I'm not doing it, ie arranging! Hate that shit, and just won't really do it unless it just comes naturally from the song itself.
