wouldn't you like to explore the world? go anywhere? do anything?
well you can't, because a few bankers and politicians say so

but if you do it regardless then thats enough of a 'fuck you'. i think exactly the same about money, and how it gets in the way of me being able to do what i want to do, but everytime i start thinking like that, i remind myself that its silly to get angry about something you have no control over, let them play their games, at the end of the day you're on the receiving end of about 1% of the worst they can do, wait till you go see places where people bare the brunt of these games, it sounds harsh but you'll be thankful all you have to worry about is achieving enlightenment and getting you're next pay cheque!

we live in pretty much the best place in the world to 'do what you want to do'... you just have to make it happen!

If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. If you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.
all i could hear in my head was this tune when i was reading this thread

yes but if everyone had the same opinion as me, we could control it
too many people think the system works, which is the problem

even if that were the case, i think that life is amazing and should be enjoyed in its fullest. it may be the only time we are us.
that's the problem, it's not possible to enjoy life to it's fullest
unless you're fucking lucky, it can always be great, but not to the full extent possible

why the fuck does the amount of money in my bank account dictate the quality of life i have, and what i can or cannot do? makes me sick

i don't have much money in the bank, but i'm happy as fuck. the less you desire, the less you suffer. i get to travel the world with my wife and friends and experience all the ups and downs of this planet, what more could i need?

it just comes down to whether you are happy to be free or not

the world will be a much better place when more people realise that life is good, but it could be a whole lot better

you shouldn't have to work 9 to 5, five days a week, most of the year to do what you want
that is slavery

and if you don't work those hours and can still do what you want FULLY
then you are in the minority, and you are fucking lucky

"to be free, or to feel free... the first one is a myth"

simply red

i think if someone can get paid to paint from 1 to infinity, you can figure out a hustle that will keep you from working a 9-5 to get what you want. achieve shit.

i can only help those around me, self actualization is a path that one must choose to walk, imho

i accept this and smile

a lot of people can't be arsed, we have a shit tonne of choice in a our lives and most people (without a criminal record) can go wherever they want in this world. There have been those with ambition/vision and those without for centuries, it is not a product some new 'controlled' world, it just shows the variety in human society. I agree with your point (too many people let their lives drift by etc) but you sound like a 15 year old crudely paraphrasing his first Alan Watts book...

And 9-5 job = slavery??
that's a pretty dumb thing to say mang
