The way I remember it is people kept spelling Acappella wrong which soon morphed into Alpaca which became a DSF meme for FAIL!Random Eyez wrote:You know for all the time i've read/posted on this forum i've seen many, many alpacas. In fact i've grown to quite like them.Basic A wrote:Prediction:

But I still don't get why people post them.
Is it a dig at someone? Randomness? Or purely for the love of the alpaca?
That's the cover-up story, the truth is a lot more darkermks wrote:The way I remember it is people kept spelling Acappella wrong which soon morphed into Alpaca which became a DSF meme for FAIL!

I dispute this claim because I have made sounds almost Identical to those in albino.therook wrote:ya know the transformer sounds aren't made in a synth...(nor from a movie) will post a sample of what I made when I get home sunday.

Even those guys will tell you there wavetable synths, resampled and automate to fuck and back, layered up with tons of mechanical sounds and sweeps. Its not synthesis alone, the layering is really what makes them on the money, but, the synth work is definately half the battle, IDK how else you think youd make those other then a synthKes-Es wrote:I dispute this claim because I have made sounds almost Identical to those in albino.therook wrote:ya know the transformer sounds aren't made in a synth...(nor from a movie) will post a sample of what I made when I get home sunday.
I get fair close with about no automation or layering, and I never got hooked on resampling, I'll back this up with a quick loop in a few.Basic A wrote:Even those guys will tell you there wavetable synths, resampled and automate to fuck and back, layered up with tons of mechanical sounds and sweeps. So lets see everyones best attempts, I was serious when I said that haha. If your in this thread on the calling them out side, you gotta prove you can do it.
yeah I believe you haha, but 'close' and 'there' are two different things, and if you lsiten to the tunes with a more crritical ear, everythings layered up, you just convince yourself it isnt and it makes synthesizing harder for you haha.Kes-Es wrote:I get fair close with about no automation or layering, and I never got hooked on resampling, I'll back this up with a quick loop in a few.Basic A wrote:Even those guys will tell you there wavetable synths, resampled and automate to fuck and back, layered up with tons of mechanical sounds and sweeps. Sounds like albino with #3 filter with the saturation turned upKes-Es wrote: http://soundcloud.com/kes-es/datsik-sou ... on/s-gNwaX
better ys, best to learn how to get the whole way there, hit new project, and muck aboutyourself froma sine waveKes-Es wrote: Why anyone would wanna get "there" and actually apply it anywhere is beyond me, better to get halfway there and then wank on the sound yourself IMHO.

Not gonna lie that sounds simpler than it really is, but even saying that, it's pretty elementary shit man. I've got tons of patches like this saved up that make different vowel sounds and shit, all straight out of albino just using envelopes and onboard effects. I mean people flip shit about it, but the sounds aren't exactly stupid hard to get in the direct ballpark of, it's harder to use them in a way that works IMHO and that's where Datsik gets it.therook wrote:Sounds like albino with #3 filter with the saturation turned upKes-Es wrote: http://soundcloud.com/kes-es/datsik-sou ... on/s-gNwaX
I just clicked the first patch in my "robot farts" patch folder and laid out a riff, but I'm glad I got not quite as opposed to not at all.Basic A wrote:better ys, best to learn how to get the whole way there, hit new project, and muck aboutyourself froma sine waveKes-Es wrote: Why anyone would wanna get "there" and actually apply it anywhere is beyond me, better to get halfway there and then wank on the sound yourself IMHO.

And nah not quite on the example bro. Good shot though. Definately heard worse patches haha.
After listening to that I would be embarrassed to be you.Crosby wrote:Soundcloudjaydot wrote: I prefer my brostep to have a more complex drum pattern and more depth to the bass.
