yes as we dont use baking tracks or loop, if you listen somthing, its cause we play it :)

yes i use the kaospad to trig and control notes at the same time.
in evry song i use it, i mod the patch. but in this one it work like this:

from left to rigth on the kaos : 8 notes sale like kaosilator ( but unlike the kaosilator the scale is folowing in real time the chords generated on the djconsol so its less boring than just play on a scale)
from down to up. pitch bend from 64 to 127 ( scalled on one octave in the synth)

on the xy of the padkontrol
left rigth -cutoff.
up down - lfo pitch amnt.
padkontrol knob 1 ( out of the screen) - i have a hipass on the lead synth and a lowpass on the bass synth , this way i can cossfade from the lead to the bass with a "constant" harmonic content.

:)

by the way great trak in your player

Herrmutt, I love what you are doing here. I have been reading and watching your posts lately on the monome boards, good stuff, very interesting. Watching your videos is fun, definitely more of a live performance than a boring dj set. Keep it up, I want to start playing with MaxforLive as soon as my arduinome is done and your . Cheers.

OKAY! I've been sick as a dog the last 3 days, straight cold sweat nasty shit.

One of my projects today is to get back into synthmaker and get down to it.

I have a question though, for the non flstudio people... how do your daws handle midi vst's? Like, how do you route your midi signals from a midi instrument to another vst instrument. I can only speak for flstudio at this time, but they employ ports. So you set up a vst instrument to listen on port 4 for example, and then set your midi vst instrument to transmit on port 4.

It's been a long time since I used live, I forget how they do it. I can't recall for cubase either. -q-

for a midifx, just put it before a drumrack . or on another track routed to your drum track if its a vsti.
on other softwares i cant remember.
( not sure i answer your question )

Okay, I've been working on this. Haven't been in this mindset for a long time. I had to get out my pocket protector (that is what nerds where in my country :) ).

I don't know how you use so many trigger points. I've got kick on the bottom, and snare on the top, and put a hat in the middle, and it is hard to get the timing of the hat right. And that is only with three trigger zones!

cool!
i have a try yesterday on synthmaker it works but send to much time the same note ( i cant find a box that send the imput to the output only when value has changed ) but it seems you make it ! could i see your shematics?

try with 5 or 8 points, maybe you just have to practice a bit :)

Dood, that is crazy really. I understand if you were playing lines, but for kick snare and hat and other beat type things, I think you are MAD! But I guess that much is obvious. And yeah, lotsa practice, fader beats are not as easy as you make it look :)

Maybe put more sounds or try to put the hi-hat somewhere else than midrange. Im sure yo get some mad skils soon! one hand on the sp, one on the fader hhéhé
pm the schematics when you can

Synthmaker is crashing out my system. And really really hard. I've been speaking with the flstudio dev side of the problem, and we cannot figure out why it is happening. Really gnarly crashes. I can't even terminate the flstudio process, even with pskill, which is a very very serious crash. I can't deal with that problem right now. I ran out of patience. :(

I can tell you really simply how the fader to note works though. The fader position outputs a float, that float is compared against the bottom side and top side of the fader trigger zone, those float comparisons are fed into a boolean and, which outputs a trigger when everything is true, ie when the fader position is between the floor and ceiling of the fader trigger zone. That trigger goes to a midi note event which has preset velocity and note number and is sent out to the vst host application, which is then presumably sent to some form of sampler. I've set up three zones, top, bottom and middle.

I've experienced some difficulty with the middle zone, when the physical fader is moved really quickly through the zone, sometimes it won't trigger a note. Seems like the fader motion is faster than the faders internal resolution. Right now, I don't know how to fix that, and I can't work on it. :(

Ultimately, I'd like to let the user set up 2, 3, or 5 zones, and set the note and velocity that is transmitted for each zone.
