So I'm new to the whole aim scene, it looks like it added people automatically no questions asked. Will it ask these people if they want to allow me to be their contact or will I have to send them an IM to know I added them

Basically, the way AIM works it kinda "bookmarks" people who you add to your buddies list.. You message them and you instantly go into their "Recent buddies" (or if it someone messages you, they go into your recent buddies) its totally up to you to drag them into "Friends". If I remember rightly, "Recent Buddies" cons is that it won't auto-accept files from them (if you set it to auto accept) and you won't get notifications they've come online but you will see them in your list, if you scroll down
