i voted with my old account, glad to see a lot of the nominees up there but i agree on the website choices. bit weird to have soundcloud amidst blogs as the ideas behind the sites are really different and it's a war you never going to win unless one of the blogs set up a massive campaign? i guess?

Nominees this year are really encouraging, it's indicative of the direction the scene is taking.. This year I really do think it's reflective of the general feeling on the forum.

Biggup Dubway and all the mods for putting their hard work into this. Everything is voted for by forum members, so please stop moaning.....the mod have had nothing to with the nominees and who has voted for what......except counting the votes. If you all keep moaning then there wont be any awards next year.......and you'll all moan about that more.

I think people's main gripe is the categorisation.

There should have been a 'best blog' category.

Soundcloud should not have been in the same category as the other blogs. The other people are right.

It's the same as pitching Youtube vs Hush House. C'mon people.

I agree, but you can't put the "blame" on the admins or creaters of the vote for this. Soundcloud was nominated, it got included. People who nominated and voted on soundcloud however, can be blamed a slight lack of common sence.

I understand completely from your angle, but surely you must see it's unbalanced.

OK, well rather than getting worked up about something that can't be helped, could you talk to Boomkat about a discount coupon or something instead of the Mp3 pack. Although 2011 awards are a year away I think I'd be a better way to direct some cash flow to the man and help promote the sound (whatever that may be).

u shud b able to vote in as many or as little catergories as u want.. otherwise people will b voting randomly in catergories they dont agree with any the nominations... which is happenin n not showin a true reflection of the votes....

Moved to Amsterdam recently. The only thing i miss is my beloved Rinse. Driving home from the studio, rinse locked on the car sound. Lost count the ammount times i had to pull over and just stare in wonder at the dash. Golden period for me was 2005/6.

It might not be gold bars Seckle, but I think it would mean a lot to people involved/nominated. Why else have them in the first place. Anyway, I love the awards. Especially this years edition which has been the best yet. I would love to have them in the future. Again, I am not pointing any fingers at organisers or admins, they only catered to the request by the voters and nominators.
A rational mind would see that soundcloud has no part in that selection, but the voters had it otherwise and we all have to live with it (which is of course, easy!). And that's why I'm dropping the subject. It's just some banter which can be used for next years edition.

Obviously I'm being slow today, but what's wrong with soundcloud being in there? It provides a fucking fantastic service and has changed the way the majority of us listen to underground music on the net and it does it legit.
