Re: FWD>> 12.05.11 - Youngsta Rinse CD Launch Party
I swear FWD wasn't even that busy! Does anyone know if Icicle played Galatic Step in the end?
Really really wanted to hear that track and I swear it should have been played, I hope i didn't miss it as I left when Icicle got into D n B.
Youngsta didn't play it did he?

So, just to refresh, when is the release date and is it a RinseFM exclusive or can you pre-order from Redeye/Chemical?
I'll omit the the tiresome diatribe, and overt pining for having missed a massive line up--seriously my dream DMZ. So I'll resign myself to taking solace in the fact that I have 2 weeks of Youngsta podcasts and a Distance podcast to listen to in the next few hours... still.
Edit: The 16th!

Are Plastic People not arsed about smoking weed in there then? Thats pretty cool
Re: FWD>> 12.05.11 - Youngsta Rinse CD Launch Party
The bouncers were doing their job well.

The regulars at FWD, know for a fact half the crowd is always foreigners.
They say FWD is full of the heads, but honestly I don't think it's on the same level as DMZ.
Did anyone see those two lads "skanking" at the front for most of the night, they were flinging limbs all over the place, what the hell was that about. Got well aggressive when people told them to calm down this isn't Skream and Benga playing Bass Cannon.
Also bouncers were tightest i've ever seen the other day, they were checking baccy even proceeded to smell mine!?! Smoking queue was the most ridiculous it has ever been, when they got tight on the smoking area you could still sneak off and get a beer and sneak back into the smoking but they check it bare now, so it wasn't possible.
Prices went in Janaury on beers in there too £4 for a 330ml bottle, us FWD regulars are obviously world class DJs that can pay that price.
Ranting now but anyway..
as always at fwd was a good night!

^^^you can't really say the foreigners aint proper dubstep heads. bit too much of a sweeping generalisation there.

I spoke to someone once who'd travelled from Germany just to go to FWD....I know 'dubstep heads' from the UK that have never been.
I don't turn on Korn to get it on, I be playin Digi Mystikz 'til the dawn
Re: FWD>> 12.05.11 - Youngsta Rinse CD Launch Party

Re: FWD>> 12.05.11 - Youngsta Rinse CD Launch Party
glad to see you've managed to pick a list of 'negatives' from a seriously good night @stukka...! Waki travelled from Hungary to catch this, then on to Corsica the next night, spending probably hundreds of pounds on flights/ travel - thats the kind of thing proper 'heads' do imo...as for the bouncers, Plastic People is under serious pressure from Hackney/ Islington council to not give them any reason to get shut down again, so trying to minimise noise on a street where there are residential flats above by regulating the smoking crowds, and being on their toes about blatant drugs use aint really a surprise to be honest

The smoking control should definitely be lessened, would be nicer to be able to get 20-25 people out there instead of the 15! Queuing for a smoke on a night like the other one was awful, especially when you were missing sets you didn't want to miss!

I just wouldn't of bothered smoking.
Re: FWD>> 12.05.11 - Youngsta Rinse CD Launch Party
I definitely didn't smoke as much because of this.apmje wrote:I just wouldn't of bothered smoking.
Re: FWD>> 12.05.11 - Youngsta Rinse CD Launch Party
wait, you have to queue before you can smoke and beer costs 4£ ? Thats insane. In Belgium, clubs dont even bother with a smoking area and beer costs 2€.
