i wasnt producing at work! i was loading and unloading a dishwasher all day!

Anyone on a production tip this w/e? Had a real case of writers block with the track I'm currently working on, had it to that point where you sit listening and are like "It's good, but it needs...something to get it going"

Had a cup of coffee, went back in and BAM found the something that it needed. Have added a spoken word vocal from an old funk record I was chopping up a while back, have sliced the vocal into phrases and sprinkled liberally through the track. Gives it a good overall vibe, and ties everything together nicely

After spending the entire week doing nothing but homework and pulling several all nighters just to get it done, i finally had some time make some music! Working on a hip hop/ drum and bass tune right now, ended up making a reese bass with a free reaktor ensemble, and finally got the drums for the dnb part done. Im pretty happy with it considering its my first attempt at drum and bass. Oh and ive had this library of film sounds for a while now, and made some really cool risers out of some orchestral buildup things.

The ensembles are called Radian Sound Lab. Theres 6 ensembles for Dubstep and Drum and Bass. They have some really cool options including a sub bass that's seperate from the distortion functions etc in the synth. Sometimes it boggles my mind how inaccurate the souncloud waveforms are hahah. Judging by what soundcloud shows, this track should be louder than my signature.

@manic,, liking the organ stuff and the intro, the 2:51 dnb is a bit mental lol and was surprised by the guitar samples at the end.

TBH, I'm waiting to hear back from people anyhow. No one on my DSF AIM list appears to actually be online, despite what their status is telling me

yeah the first sound is a fm8 patch i made. you think the dnb is too much or you mean mental in a good way? i wasnt really sure how to do it so any tips on that part would be appreciated

Im not one to get critisism from tbh,,, the breakbeat you introduce at 2:10 is nice but the skittering hats type things seem abit mental, and the groves seems to be lost,,, but sounds alright after those guitar stabs... but overall the vibe seems abit lost,, just my opinion tho ^_^ i wouldnt really have any tips cept maybe slow it down to 160ish and make it more jungly? even thats just a guess suggestion tho lol . To each there own.

i found myself whistling a sweet house melody in the shower, but more like... shitty trancy big sounding radio swedish electro whatever house. i recorded it, in case i might wanna do something like that. then i played around with guitar rigs ring modulator thingie and found that when you push the "FM" knob hard and sweep the frequency knob it basically sounds like a bitcrusher/samplehold. i'm kinda confused.

also "invade vip" sounds gorgeous on my laptop speakers

Sat and watched Reso's BRILLIANT masterclass till 4 yesterday morning, inspired me to make a track yet it failed miserably.

Also, checking my emails every day waiting for a reply from dub police/submerged music. Been 2 weeks seince my Rock Bottom Remix was sent off to Caspa.

^well chill remix and orig. tune... brought back lots of memories lol ... and what a cheeky sample xD haha
