Ah, so when Kyle says "listen to this sick crap I think it's my new favorite" at the bus stop he wasn't referencing dubstep? I don't think they really cared about making something that actually sounded exactly like dubstep for the show. Come on guys read between the lines, or does it have to be spelled out for you? They are definitely referencing the genre as well as other current fads... Great episode

Can't really start to get angry about this. Don't know why i would. But i kind of have to agree with them - the mainstream american dubstep does sound like pure shit. And i love south park, but this season has been really fucked up.

The poop jokes are just the surface. South Park's been shit for years, but at its prime, it was a very clever show. The humor was in the abusrdity and how the characters dealt with it.

Most comments here are missing the point of that episode. Trey and Matt are getting older; they are not finding the stuff they are making with South Park funny any more. This is clearly explained in the episode. Look at Randy and Sharon as Trey and Matt.

They are both heavily involved with their Broadway musical, "the Book of Mormon" at the minute and, as they are contractually obliged to pump out an episode of South Park from scratch in just six days, the pressure must really be on for them. I blame those factors for the declining standards of series 15 with the exception of two great episodes (this one included). Really amazes me seeing people comment about how dumb the show is etc. when they clearly don't look into the show's metaphors and tropes. Look a bit deeper and you will still find a deeply funny, intelligent show.

This. Doesn't matter how many hidden metaphors and nods to the audience there are, they have run out of funny/intelligent material. Burying a random bit of dialogue in metaphor (and who actually struggles to see through it? They're been rinsing this idea for years) doesn't make it meaningful.

You gotta be pretty simple to think they are taking the piss outta just Dubstep! They are quite clearly taking the piss outta all types of popular music that teens listen to not just Dubstep! I think this episode was Matt and Trey's way of saying that they are running out of ideas and the newer south park eps are just the same old shit with a different story or something like that anyway! I've always been a massive SP fan but it's seriously gone down hill over the last few seasons! I think it's time to call it a day tbh they have been going for fuckin years! Having said that even the shittest episodes of south park are 1000 times funnier than the best episodes of Family Guy that show is utter shite!

the episode was pretty deep (well for south park atleast) and yeah it has sweet fuck all to do with music although music does provide the perfect means to get the point across because its something that a wider age group could relate to.

Hahaha. Jeez. I might say "Listen to this sick track" about a My Bloody Valentine track. Dubstep does not have ownership of the adjective "sick". I know some of you might want this to be about dubstep, but it isn't. It's just about people finding everything shit as they get older, and the Matt/Trey stuff everyone else has mentioned.

I just saw the episode for the first time.

What Randy was listening to with the 909 beats sounded something like new school miami bass. Whatever Stan was listening to on his iPod before he went to sleep came out to sound very garagey/2-step and some hip hop. I did not hear anything dubstep!

It was alrite episode, but the ending was campy because it tried so hard to be emotional. It's still South Parks weak season (still assuming because of the Book of Mormon production), but at least it's not a pure pile of shit like how Family Guy is nowadays.

First of all the south Park episode is about dubstep. Atleast most of it references it. Dubstep is music that has no reason to it. It's just constant repetition of the same beat and a chorus from another song. I dont mean to hate... But there's no depth in it. Like most music now a days. (big time rush, Britney spears, lmfao, ect)... And when I say most music I mean popular music.. Which dubstep contains. why dont you just listen to the real song?

And I can't believe you guys are taking this so seriously. It's a show. South Park is a giant satire about Americas pop culture. Don't be hipsters.
