Last night I tried to make orzo salad - however failed to find orzo in the supermarket :? So instead became like a pasta salad, but with pesto, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, spring onion and red onion (only after i started eating it did i realise that i had put two types of onion in it). was freaking delicious though

My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

Grilled mackerel (that my brother caught) with horseradish and chilli. Served up with home grown jersey potatoes, asparagus and a bit side salad.

http://uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/533182

Ingredients
4 small whole mackerel, heads removed, gutted, cleaned
2 red chillies, seeds removed, finely chopped
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
4 spring onions, finely sliced
4 tsp freshly grated horseradish
4 tsp dried red chilli flakes
2 tsp choppedleaves rosemary
2 lemons, juice only

1. Make 2 slashes on each side of the mackerel, and sprinkle chopped red chillies in each cut.

2. Season with black pepper and rub each fish, on both sides, with the olive oil.

3. Preheat a grill or barbecue, and when hot, cook the fish for 5 - 7 minutes on each side - or until the skin is crisp and the fish tender.

4. While the fish is under the grill, combine the spring onions, horseradish, dried chilli and rosemary.

5. Add the lemon juice and enough water to give a pouring consistency.

6. Drizzle the horseradish and chilli mixture over the mackerel and serve straight from the grill with steamed new potatoes and a crisp salad.

god I fucking love mackerel. Really any blue scale fish, like pike or saury as well. all those oils make em' taste intense with the fish flavor, but shit they are good. all about intense flavor profiles!

Oily fish + something hot like wasabi, horseradish, chilli = BOMB!

I don't know what to have tonight. Don't want anything proper heavy as it's too hot and sticky, I can't eat stodgey meals when it's hot. Makes me sleep like a cat.

Sick little programme that. Wanted to try bear ever since I saw it.

Though watching it gave me conflicted opinions on whether I should want to try it.
