Fat Bass [Stenchman]

Anyone know how to get a fat non wobbling bass like that used by Stenchman in 'who moved my cheese' on a 3ox for FL?

Maybe a little cleaner sounding. I'm looking to make a nice big bass to drop with no wobble just a big sound.

That might be hard with 3x osc. I'd just use some lowpassed saws layered with a sub, then add Fruity Waveshaper (try one of the distortion presets), and EQ it to make the low end really big. That will give you something like that. It sounds like it has an attack envelope but if you don't want it to wobble then don't modulate the cutoff.

BTW your name and avatar made me lol :6:

2 detuned saws and one n octave down for grit? then some overdrive I guess would sound a bit like that, then you want to boost the lows as mentioned before, just a rough guess. :D. I know Stenchman used reason so the sounds he makes are probably more easily achievable with malstrom or something similar.

Fuck saws. Use a sine, on sub notes, and open 3 or 4 instances of "Blood overdrive" in the mixer. Turn the wetness all the way down, and in each instance, turn the drive to around 45% upwards, and gradually turn the wetness up on each one, you can then experiment with the drive on these or add more. I also like using a vocoder or chorus on these sounds

I know he uses Massive, I've just been trying to recreate a similar fast moving bass and I figured I would turn to you guys for some help. He uses the same style of bass in Wormhole and Outlaw as well.

This is the track I am speaking of:
Soundcloud
keep playing with different waves & lfo combinations keep giving your sounds more dimension til it sounds like something you can really feel. cyberoptix is a big inspiration of mine & im not going to say i sound like him at all but im pretty sure you can tell im influenced by him, listen to one of my tracks in sig. & you can see how an armature guy is trying to create those types of builds & drops & maybe get a new perspective. hope that helps at all, peace.
Thanks for replying. That gives me somewhat of an idea, but could you be a bit more specific?
He's also one of my biggest influences, I love all of his stuff. Very sick tracks btw

How do i recreate the synth sound found in this?

Rustie's Ultra Thizz.

High pitched sounding synth at 0:55, 1:02, 1:25 etc.

How do i go about recreating this kind of synth in logic? I've heard it in a few Daft Punk songs as well. If anybody could enlighten me i'd be bloody grateful. :4:

EDIT: Cheers whoever moved this post to this thread, didn't realize there was something like this!

Sounds like afew saws slightly detuned. However, to me it sounds like the most important is to assign the pitches to an LFO and have it modulate each osc about 25 cents at a very rapid rate (1/32nds, or maybe even 1/64ths). If you listen close, you can hear that's one of the things he's doing, and it's a great way to fatten up and dirty up the sound a bit.

Probably never going to go in any of my productions, but how do you go about the lead bass in this track?

If you're still not sure what sound im talking about...It's the sound that comes in at 0:25 & after...how he gets such movement out of it!
Tanks :U:

Sounds like the cicada waveforms from massive. Use the phase function on the modulations osc and then mess around with pitch on the different lfo's. De-tuning several of them helps as well :W:

Does anyone know how to make a short(snappy) but heavy kick like the one right in the beginning? Ive been dying to use one of those kicks. It sounds as if it sucks back into itself, but really fast. So you barely notice it. But it just gives SO much punch. I just can't seem to get it done... Just compression is not enough. Sure it makes it a bit punchier, but it does not create such a tight kick as this one. more like a bouncy one, but I prefer this sound.
