ANOTHER STORY..

a couple of months ago, at the beginning of the summer..
I was addicted to one of those new style frozen yogurt places..

just for a hot second because Taro was a new flavor for me...

So, I was at the La' Berry getting some stuff and this girl walked in with her 6-7 year old son...
and she was dressed in a way that I had seen on TV but never in real life..

and I thought to myself - Does she even know where shes at...
because the style was just dumb for the surroundings..

It was as if she hadn't absorbed even a second of the city...


kitten heels - on gravel - into antebellum brick work - into vomit and dog shit

..and it's not that I "CARE" about what some random lady was wearing..

It just made me feel disconnected from her as a person IN THIS WORLD
..the world I feel connected to.


It did make me take a second look at the yogurt shop too...

c) how does he know that the owner of the butchers is 1st gen immigrant - i said to him, ''I'm 2nd gen, i was born in england, my first language is english, if i open a butcher's in rusholme that sells halal meat how is that not English and how is that eroding the tradition, and heritage of england?''
d) if you go outside of rusholme, less than 5minutes walk you can get an english butchers serving non-halal meat

Racism is not something that can be wrote down as a specific thing. That is why in the English law discriminatory laws use the wording 'perceived' racism. there are so many assumptions within this of the reason why people might say such things

i dont think youre in a position to judge why someone could think something

ultimately maybe someone could think it without feeling there is something wrong with halal meat / foreign butchers etc...maybe they felt there wasnt anything wrong with english butchers....just to play devils advocate why does someone not liking an area becoming almost totally devoid of english make them a hater of anyone non english? surely it just means they would like some english people?

personally...i dont care but then i dont really care about where im from as a country

i tall you what does sometimes bother me if im being honest, the lack of people getting my english humour in shops / takeaways etc owned by people that dont grasp english humour.....also the general lack of friendliness at both my local asian owned (pretty sure they moved here given their grasp of language) paper shops...i am friendly to them and they are not friendly back and it seems tied into the lack of understanding of english culture

also 3 shops down is a hardward shop where i get all my useful stuff for the flat like one shot acid / superglue / plungers etc etc and a young guy works there that has pakistani parents but hes english and we get on well and tend to share a joke when i go in there...by english i mean he was obviously born here and gets our humour and way we are as well...he is the same

my views here are not racist and im also a half intelligent man so god knows how the inbred people that live on my estate tend to regard the two paper shops!

a friend of mine asked about vacancies in a branch of new look and a girl that didnt speak very good english in a polish accent laughed at her and said 'there is no job here'...now if i went to another country and got a job there i wouldnt laugh at someone born there asking about vacancies but thats just me..

its very easy to point the finger at others when you live an insulated life and then proclaim the people are getting upset for middle class reasons but the fact is people in a worse situation are more integrated into the lives of immigrants and are therefore going to often have more reasons to be annoyed
