What the problem was for me, was that in FL, anytime it was on "Primary sound driver" it sounded like crap, and that's actually the more honest way to listen to it. Whenever I used Asio4all it sounded amazing, it boosted the bass, the highs, it just sounded a lot cleaner, so I was thinking my stuff was sounding great, when it really wasn't.
What the problem is, is that your soundcard is coloring the sound. The way to fix this, is to right click on your sound icon at the bottom right of windows, and select "playback devices". Now here, everybody's will be different, but right click on your device, and select "Properties". Now, select the "enhancements" tab, and check the box that says "disable all sound effects."
Now, if you go back into FL, ASIO and primary sound drivers will both sound like crap, but this is a good thing, because that's what it really sounds like. Now you can work towards getting it to sound that good again, but for real this time.
he said in the very first line that he was using asio
Right, and that's the problem. When ASIO is selected, it goes through the soundcard in a way that it colors the sound to enhance it. So that needs to be turned off.

you may have fixed your problem, but you have the wrong idea on how you got there and what the drivers do.

whether he's right or wrong, I would suggest the OP check for sound enhancers anyway. It may be causing his problem.

He's right though. It wasn't a problem with sound drivers at all, it was a problem with Windows "enhancing" sound with ASIO and then me being disappointed once I mix it down. Basically, if it sounds like shit in ASIO then I can EQ it in there and my mixdown will sound how it did in FL Studio (which is basically what I've been looking for). Leave Sarge alone because he just fixed my problem. You must have misunderstood the issue I was having.

Take a song you've finished and lower every instrument until your master fader doesn't go over like -3 db and try bouncing that. If it still sounds clippy then it's not you, it's your hardware/software/settings.
I dunno if this affects your bounce but try maxing your buffer size? I know it definitely affects playback. My final suggestion would be to open taskmanager and raise the priority of FL, just not realtime or you might blow up your processor haha.

I already explained this in this thread, buffer size has nothing to do with rendering.
What is buffering? When you playback your project file live, it renders x-milliseconds in advance to allow you to hear whats going on (you cant listen, to whats not rendered)
When you render your tune as a finished product, it is completely detached from this, because your rendering the whole thing now, not a few milliseconds of it like you were when you listened back.
Its a very hard notion to explain, but this is also why youtube videos buffer and media player doesnt, if that helps put it into context? Some context's need pre-loaded... some contexts are rendering a final product.
As i said earlier, you could take a hammer to your soundcard and set your buffer length to anything and it wouldnt effect your rendered signal.

that's funny because you still don't.. I never said it was a bad idea, I just meant your three paragraph explanation is not accurate. but as we learned in your pop dubstep thread, nothing can get through to you so I'm not going to explain it. congrats on solving the problem though.
