nice work two oh one:)
so what's the deal with ink tanks, is there a special set up? are the tanks small and you're zooming in the the camera or are the tanks huge? i always love the photos and videos of the ink falling, curious of how it's set up.

Cheers, J Rock!
It's really easy to do this stuff.
No, you can do it with a glass and zoom in, if you like. A flat sided tank is much, much better because you can control the light reflecting off it a little easier - You need to have no reflections. The quality of the glass is pretty important - No bubbles. My glass had bubbles and slight differences in the glass width, so the ink distorts when looking through it. Meh.
The set up is simple. Water in a tank (Or glass), zoom the camera right in and put a fork or something in the center of the glass to focus on, then remove it.
Put some white card behind the tank as a backdrop and reflect a nice bright light off it. Evenly light it, or Over expose it a bit to get it as clean and featureless as you can. Then record a few drops of India ink. Use tiny amounts and you get the strandy and droppy bits. The post production is simply a case of whacking the contrast, which hides a multitude of sins.
