I used to love the casualties, until a friend told me that he went to a show and the singer held their set up for over an hour because he couldn't get his hair right... Now THAT'S punk rock.

in this world:
TISM from Melbourne were the ultimate irreverent intelligent punks
they recorded multiple albums & all stayed anonymous with masks on stage
their track about River Phoenix's death was hilarious
but Progression Cult, from Sydney, were the ultimate scenesters (never recorded)

Mark Stewart remixed by Pinch

Mark Stewart, lead singer of legendary post-punk band The Pop Group and uncompromising solo artist who alongside his 'Mafia' cohorts and long time producer Adrian Sherwood forged raw, dub and industrial influenced political polemics is releasing a new album called The Politics of Envy....

^thanks for that info

The Pop Group's first album was a fave until some slimebag nicked it
they were like listening to primaling in a vacuum
maybe it was the French connection that made them unique
the closest I've ever heard were the Moodists

yes defo post punk

Not really a punk band as such though they do have a very punky kind of sound, the term i heard being bandied around was pronk (supposedly meaning prog+punk)
either way, this is the best fucking band ever regardless of whatever genre you call them

Punk rock was my first introduction to vinyl and record players. Buying maximum rock and roll and mailing 3 or 4 dollars across the country for a 7". No eBay PayPal or discogs. DIY.
