Maybe a little bit of respect would come in some peoples favour next time
respect is earnt

ANYWAYS

if you have a look around the forum you will see that there are already a few (thousand) threads that have A LOT of brostep tunes, which will most likely be what you're after...

however, if you dig a bit deeper you will find (and maybe realise) that there is more to this whole thing than just 'dirty/filthy/nasty' tunes....

seriously, just scratch past the surface and you will figure out that this place has alot to offer... you just have to be on the same wavelength, which can take abit of time (and reading)

Yeah I get that, thats not ALL I listen to and I know thats not what it's all about, it pays to read the introduction thread.... Just wanted to see what everyone was sharing round at the moment, everyone thats into that scene right now.

I'm onto it.

ha

most people here tend to stare well clear of that scene.... except for lyons

personally, not a big fan of moonsized eyes, glowsticks or a constant lack of subbass that tend to go along with it

Also, have a listen to some of the tunes in the Dubs & Tunes for Feedback forum. Your bound to find some stuff in there that is more up your street. The WHAT IS DUBSTEP? thread has a lot of links to check out as well. Lastly, Tune Of The Day turns up all sort of goodies from time to time.

Like Nevalo said, don't get too put off by some of the negativity to the more hype sounding stuff around here, there's plenty to hear if you take the time to dig. :W:

So I see everyone here is sorta brostep hating then? So if I throw a few names down then you'll throw them under that category?

See I used to be into the EDM scene which is why I know more about that then I do this...

So what names are you into Nev? Can you please throw a few tracks down that you're into?

Yeah totally. It's just this whole new scene has emerged now, when I used to listen to dubstep all the filthy stuff barely existed. Everyone I know now is digging on all the shit that sounds like Skrillex, in all honesty I don't like Skrillex so much anymore, he's A). too mainstream/ it's a name you're sick of hearing, B). his tunes arem't really pure dubstep and when I see a bunch of 'dubstep kids' they all start bitching about how much they love Skrillex...

I'd like to get back into all the old stuff everyone was into years and years ago before all the 'brostep' and crazy shit was released and took over, cuz now you get so wrapped up in it all that you claim it as being real dubstep. I will have a look at some of the other threads tonight. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I get why there's a lot of negativity towards all the 'new' stuff because it's pretty much overthrown what was real.

totally. house is where it's been at for me recently.. which is why when I came back to dubstep (or so they say).. it all sounded... different.. I'll admit I dig all the filthy stuff I really do but come to think of it, that was never what shit used to be like. pretty much what I was just saying before.

When I went to the Fatboy Slim, Skrillex gig over here (which I went to mainly to see Porter Robinson and Fatboy Slim cuz I've been into electro more than anything) all his tracks were just nuts.. all sounded the same.. no deep bass, no dark sound just all over the place. He did a good set but then again.. not real dubstep right?

No way could that have been Porter.. I met him sidestage at the gig and he's a real good, genuine guy. He was dropping 'dubstep' most of the night aside from his electro hits. and even when I spoke to him and said how much I dig electro he was telling me "Oh well as you can see it's been dubstep for me all night"

This is what he meant by dubstep

I don't particularly like this side of him anyway.

Yeah.... probably not your definition of electro anyway..

Anyway to me, electro is FTampa. Who isn't mainstream but a good producer and a good friend of mine.
