You can tell they (back in the 90s) wrote their rhymes first then tried to find beats to rap them to, which led to them cramming way too many words together and that shit irritates me. Wu Tang are great street corner MCs. And that's fine, but I don't listen to street corner rappers. I like polished, mixed, well written, mastered, crispy clean rap. Like, BTNH back then, and Drake now. Wu is hip hop hype and respect and everybody rides them because everybody rides them. Like Jay Z. He sucks too. Cant rap anymore. Rhymes blow. I'm not afraid to say it. But hip hop still on his wack @ss.

I stand by what I said and it was not born of ignorance. :W:
ur opinions are wack

I like Drake's content and his flow most of the time. His beats r hard as well.

Hating on him for his music is one thing but hating cos he is "feminine" or bringing something different to the game is dumb. Common already made himself look bitter and its only makin YMCMB stronger. I been sick of the masculine bravado rap thing since about 2001.

The first Cuban Linx is better than anything Drake has done, is doing and will ever do.

Some of you need to get off the fuckin' drugs.

You don't like hip-hop. You like R'n'b.

Comparing Bone Thugs with Wu is like comparing a smoothie with a steak.

Drake has brought absolutely NOTHING new to "the game". If you wunna hear smooth sounding raps not talking about gangster shit then listen to CL, who's only been around for over 20 years...

this is a ridiculous argument tho
almost all of these dungeon artists have bought nothing new or different to the scene yet they're lauded as the saviours of dubstep
same with all these producers jumping on house
however, it doesnt mean the music is bad, good music is good regardless of whether it is new or innovative

I never said that. I was just refuting that he's brought anything at all to the game. Don't get me wrong; I see why people like him. A lot of his tracks are catchy, and I get that. That being said, his lines are weak, his flow reminds me of an autistic child, and his voice is annoying. The Pharcyde, a tribe called quest, de la soul, pete rock and CL Smooth-> NONE of these guys ever acted like gangsters or rapped about gangster shit, but they had a style that was their own. Drake still comes with that same old "look at me I'm rich and I rap good" style. He's defenitly better than a lot of the guys that are being hyped up right now, but that's like saying I'm better at swimming than any newborn I've ever met.

Waaaahhhh i'm angry because i'm 40 years old & can't get a better record deal so i'm going to write a bitter rhyme incoroprating all the labels who told me my music sucks and threw away my crappy demos... :i: :H:

When someone with talent, cries about the industry, THIS IS WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE: (i.e. An actual marketable song)

Labels is from Liquid Swords, which was released on Geffen, and he wasn't near 40 years old when he wrote that...
you're sounding like a complete idiot, with no knowledge of hip hop whatsoever

have you even heard Liquid Swords? Arguably the greatest album of all time?

When is the last time the bone thugs did ANYTHING of any relavence? I have the utmost respect for them and I've always loved their style, but for real? They're target crowd is highschool suburban white kids going through an identity crisis. Wu-tang, their crowd is basically anybody who likes hiphop. Reguardless of whether or not you like it, they PIONEERED that gambino style that so many try to copy and emulate.

Yes. It was forced down my throat by all my friends in HighSchool. Of course I heard it. I grew up in Baltimore. Wu Tang were hailed as Gods during my school years. I stand by my opinion. I didn't like them then, and I don't like them now. However, I think my opinion on their "sound" is being taken as disrespect to the Group itself. I like the Wu as a "thing" in HipHop, but when you start comparing somebody like Drake to Ghostface Killa, I can't take it. It brings me back to my arguments in HS about Bone/Wu. It's just a "taste" thing, nobody's right or wrong. But its funny how old washed up rappers always mad at the new ones. Drake doesn't suck, that's why he's on the radio right now. GZA finally write a marketable song, he might get on the radio too.

How is the content of Marvin's Room anything like CL?

You're getting content confused with flow.

Content = lyrical meaning.

"Smooth sounding raps"= flow/style.
