Didn't know Night Tracks was here...big ups, really love all the artists!

This thread is an interesting read. Recently been wondering whether I should try to send some tunes to labels or just wait to be noticed. It seems like there's a split between those who say to send out tunes and those who say to wait for them to come to you.

Doesn't what type of music you produce factor into this as well? If you're in a fairly common genre (brostep, electro, etc) wouldn't it be better to self promote? I mean, there's such a large number of people making tunes in that genre that you almost have to get your own tunes noticed through self promotion. But with other, lesser known genres, it might be better to just wait? I don't know, just my thoughts.

Do some research, a quick google search will tell you

Also, did you check out the link to the other "how to get signed" thread I linked you to? A lot of stellar advice on there, in fact some big names like Killawatt came on that thread and gave their $0.02

Have a listen to what theyve put out and pick the 3 youre feeling most, send them three songs each and hope for the best /myadvice.
