I always lock in to The Clairvoyants, dBridge, Flight, Swamp 81, Youngsta, Numbers and usually Mark Radford and Shogun Audio as well. Would be pretty gutted if any of those were dropped.

Have Night Slugs been dropped? Haven't seen any podcasts up for a while.

Bok Bok had a one-off a few weeks ago, but it looks like they are off the regular rotation (http://rinse.fm/timetable). totally understandable considering how busy those guys must be, but still a shame if it is true. i discovered rinse through that show when night slugs first got on the schedule a few years ago. i would love to track down some of those early podcasts. introduced me to a totally different sound than i was used to at the time

Mindstep won the best new label in the dsf awards yet noone in this thread seems to rate the show, I don't think you can lump his show in with the other dubstep shows its definitely on a different vibe

^ Seconded. Crises is a very impressive and unique DJ. He's got a clear vision and an interesting sound imo.

Well, we dont play brostep/wobble and we only play a bit of the halfstep/dungeon sound (I like it but a lot of it is very similar and most of it is beholden to Loefah/D1/Skream/Yunx of '04-06), so perhaps we don't play "dubstep 2012" per se, but I like to think we've kept the spirit of that mid dubstep period going.

What was great about the DMZ/FWD/04-06 time was that there was a collective commitment to a freedom to experiment around dark 138ish textures. I like to think of dubstep of being a spirit of edgy creativity around a tempo and in that sense we've stayed true to that, it's just that some of the bpms have dropped (to 130bpm, mostly). When Dusk and I got into what is now called dubstep it was 2000, when El-B, Zed Bias, Artwork, Steve Gurley and all them guys were making garage-but-darker and I dont see much difference now.

Our show Rinse has been running four years now - every show is archived here for download - and while I'm sure we dont get the hype that the station's big DJs get, I'm increasingly convinced the role of our show is to investigate new possibilities and break new artists. While we're happy to support them, most of the big guys don't need our help now, they've got their own momentum. So the show - for the listeners and the producers who contribute to it (though this is increasingly blurred) - is for those hungry for the new.

Given that we try and make every single Rinse show sacred. Because it is: it's Rinse. It's fucking rinse dot fm, one hundred point three on your FM dial...

This is pretty much why i listen to every show, loads of new music from new people. I like some of it, some i dont, exactly how it should be.

Really respect what you and Dusk do. Big Ups

Yeah, I wouldn't describe you as dubstep as you're pushing a sound that no-one else really is. There are definitely lots of elements from dubstep but the sound you're pushing has evolved in a different direction to the dubstep of today, so much so that I wouldn't tarnish it with the dubstep brush, even though the stripped-down nature is much more true to the early dubstep sound than alot of '2012 dubstep'. Big ups still

i havent listened to rinse for ages, mainly cause I'm too busy setting up my label and doing a whole host of other pointless activities, can someone recommend me a show>? what I'm looking for is a dj who generally plays weird stuff, the more out there the better, I'm not into monotone dubstep or 3 hours of minimal sounding beats, what i crave is variation and brave selections...cheers and then ill tune in and check rinse out again! :h:

the only show i make an effort to listen to is dusk & blackdown

i enjoy the others now and again on the podcast or whatever but like blackdown said, they play the new shit, and even if i don't like a tune i know something mad is about to creep in any second
