Notpron (if you have the time, patience, and smarts for it)
Kingdom rush
(Super) Karoshi
I remember Notpron from years ago, so so good! Everyone should play it once.
Been playing this for the past half-hour:

is it any good? I played the demo on the xbox and really quite enjoyed it. It seemed promising.
Haven't bought it yet though, cos I've got a couple of other games left that I still haven't finished, but I'm thinking about it.

Cue mini-review......
I was unsure at first, I thought it was a bit shite; thinking it'll be a Dark Souls alternative while I wait for From Software to do a new game (which isn't Armored Core V, bought it, hate it!).
I'm about 10-20 hours deep now, about 1/3rd through the map - level 24 and have only JUST completed the 2nd 'main' quest after the prologue. There is A LOT to do and the pace of the game is slowed down (and not in a bad way) through its traveling system. There isn't a dedicated and free "fast travel" you can warp between a few (and I mean few) points around the map and thats it, other than that the warp stones take you to the main city..
Exploration is dangerous and exciting - while you won't exactly stumble into a place where the enemies are 93284932842 levels higher than you and dead you in one hit (like most sandbox Action-RPGs) you could be killing a few wolfs and a Chimera gets a wiff of your scent, runs over and attacks you, this instantly turns the battle from 'bring me X amount' mission (which I have only done like.. 2? out of about 30 quests) into a epic fight for survival; If you die, you lose all your progress and go back to last save point (this is how they eliminate to an extent death punishments but you can save when and where ever you like) so you choose to fight if you have enough potions left and have a party well equipped to fight the certain monster (for instance, ogres are more excited and dangerous when you're using women characters and Chimeras need to be cut down in sections, so you need people who can chop off the snake first, then the goat head then the lion but once the snake as gone, its really vulnerable to fire so you need at least a mage too) or run, then you have to make sure you run at the right point because if you run out of stamina you'll get killed.
Its a great take on what I think is quite a boring genre these days; the combat is solid and simple which doesn't get in your way (like dark souls, if you die its from your own fuck ups not the games controls or w/e). The Night/Day aspect is really nice, where there was bandits earlier in an area, there might be cultists who'll cast deadly curses and hit you with magic or trapped souls floating around at night which can posses you while undead are raising from the ground every 2-3 minutes.
Its not perfect by any means, the voice acting is garbage, there is one 'main' hub town which you have to keep coming back to for new missions (which I really dislike), from what ive seen so far the enemies act quite similar - undead all act the same, same as humans, wolfs, etc, etc and the atmosphere of the game is quite bland at points.
Its not the kind of game you play for an atmospheric experience say like.. Fall Out but it is a solid game and throw some music in the background and slash & explore away!
I traded in loads of games I didn't play anymore so I got it 'free', I wouldn't pay full price for it personally but I would say its a solid pick up if theres nothing else what sparks your interest at the moment.

Thanks for the info Legend4ry!
I think I'm definitely going to get it someday, though, as you said, not for full price. I'm thinking of just trading some old games in just like you, really got loads that I haven't touched in years.

Holy Shit are those screen shots or renders ^
I need a new racing game but Project Cars is in beta isn't it?
How is it?
Replaying Bioshock by the way. It's probably the best shooter since half-life. I suggest everyone plays it.
