Tried it during the early stages of the beta, hated it, immediately switched back, didnt try it since.

But now that it's launched I've heard it supposedly sounds better than the old one. Can anyone comment on this?

Still sounds bang the same as far as i can tell, just looks more annoying.

I know you can change back to classic atm but I reckon if the majority of users like the new version they'll force it on everyone eventually.

It always seems to be the way with things - they change shit nobody cares about, while not fixing the things that everyone asks for.

Seriously, much needed changes guys. The old layout, even though you're used to it, made absolutely no sense. Your tracks were small and out of focus, and it was hard for people not used to it to find the tracks. This new layout makes a lot more sense and presents your profile in a much better way, you're just not used to it yet. About missing features etc, come on. That'll be fixed later. It's a step in the right direction IMO and I like it.

Really? Like setting aside bugs and stuff that will get sorted, you really think it's worse?

Granted, I only had a quick look yesterday but I gotta say it makes sense to me. I had no problems with the old layout but I know people who weren't used to Soundcloud had a hard time navigating it, I think for a lot of listeners who are used to the facebook layout etc this will make more sense than the old one, even if I had no problems with it.

I don't think it's worse, but i also don't think there was a problem in the first place. Out of focus? Hard to find music? I've never heard of these problems. Seeing as the site is dedicated to music, i hardly think that finding music has been a problem.

Yeah I agree with you there, I don't see the problem either but then again you gotta remember that most people are of pretty low intelligence. I get people asking me how to find my tracks all the time so apparently the design isn't as obvious as I first thought. I see a lot of similarities with facebooks design and I'm sure that's an active choice from the devs, just to simplify for those who aren't so used to it. Soundcloud is after all a relatively small community if you compare to the amount of people who use youtube to listen to music etc, I think this could be a good way to open it up to the public a bit. Also I think it looks slicker.

Some stuff is missing, I don't like the message system atm etc but I'm sure that'll be fixed, I have confidence in them. After all I only use it for posting my tunes, if it makes it easier for my fans to listen to them then I'm all for it.

I still remember when I was new to the old soundcloud layout and stuff, took me a while to figure it out. I think this new design makes it much easier for the listeners.
