Hardly anyone mentions the Be True remix. One of Burial's best tunes, and the best one on a more ambient tip imo.

I always thought that remix would yield bigger things.

Not that the result is bad, just the concept of Burial remixing Be True seemed perfect and the result didn't live up. I applaud Burial for taking it ambient/switching it up but a dark 2 steppy refix woulda done me

Don't think he could've won on that one really, if he left it at DnB and more structured, think people would've just said "What's the point of this remix?" and if he went really loose and far from the original (like he did), people would've just said "this isn't even a remix" (like they did at the time).

Personally, I like remixes that completely flip the original.

I love it, but lets be honest--it's not really a remix. It's a completely seperate Burial tune, with a Be True vocal sample in it two or three times.

I agree about flipping it, I wasn't getting at '2 step D&B', more a South London Boroughs/more overtly garage feel. Basically I wanted a sick beat on it but this is pointless he made it and it is what it is.

Yeah wasn't on about you there, just saying what was the general feeling at the time.

The intro to South London Boroughs is the best thing ever in music, but Shutta is better than the main bit of SLB.

Liable to change, but for me it's:

Shutta
South London Boroughs
Etched Headplate
Shell Of Light
Gutted
for me it's

Untitled 2
Untrue
Lambeth
Distant Lights
Near Dark

There are too many excellent Burial tune to love one more than the other.
But I love the beatless, ambient tunes like:
Dog Shelter
Endorphin
Forgive
Night Bus
These tunes are London for me.

I love the really first ones of his work
Southern Comfort
South London Boroughs

Then of course
Fostercare (sometimes feel like this is my favourite)
Street Halo
Stolen Dog (sometimes feel like this is my favourite)
Kindred (sometimes feel like this is my favourite)
Ashtray Wasp (sometimes feel like this is my favourite)

Remixes
Bloc Party - Where Is Home
Four Walls/Paradise Circus (MAGNIFICENT)
Jamie Woon - Wayfaring Stranger
What day is today?

Yeah, I was naming Burial only pieces.

Moth with Four Tet would be in there otherwise.

I heard they invented a new month specifically for Burial releases / release date.

Ravember. It's somewhere between January and December.
