I feel like EDM is turing into metal, with all the sub genres. Its pretty annoying tbh, with all the elitists going " its not death metal, its technical melodic death core with hints of folk/ viking black metal.

all these fuckers who decide to produce what is hot at the moment, don't have any influence on the music scene. They're simply bandwagoners and in the long run, will be the reason the listeners loose interest. Its the people who are innovative and creative who will prevail, and they'll keep doing what theyre doing even if nobody plays their music at the big raves.

I could ramble here...as I often do...but i wont...at the end of the end of the day I make sounds that Im feeling. Regardless of genre conventions. I do my thing. Ironically the last two tunes I started were DnB.

Totally. This attitude is the attitude of a lot of big producers atm, and I think it is a good one, make what you feel sounds good, be it Dubstep, DnB, Prog House etc etc.
Everything doesn't have to be a genre within a genre, if it's good - listen to it - if not, don't.

A lot of the originators in the scene are treating dubstep like a bit of a dirty word these days, which is really sad to see. Fair enough you want to make something new, but its a bit silly to slag off a genre that gave you a platform in the first place. I also think the whole dubstep is dead thing could end up being a self fulfilling prophecy, if you throw enough shit some sticks.

Every scene goes through this at some point, I can't think of one music scene that has been immune to this.
It always seems to devolve into "my secret club isn't secret or hip anymore", or a sense of jealousy and entitlement that "these new guys" are more successful than they are with some new offspring of a genre that isn't like it's roots.
You have some people who genuinely get bored of the stuff, but you also have talented producers who jump from one scenes bubble to the next when one bursts and make a very good living at this.
It's just a shame that they always seem to need to do some shit talking of the genre they just came from to gain some "cred" from the new thing they just jumped on.
Not saying it's a bad thing, just a fact of music, especially electronic.
I'm surprised it's taken this long for dubstep with how quickly it's garnered a pop/mainstream audience.

In my opinion, there are so many soundboys right now trying to kill and demoralize a sound just because they don't feel or play/produce it anymore. I can understand that this whole commercial bullshit with artists like Seven Lions and Kill The Noise putting out bland, boring and generic music got people tired and disappointed with 140bpm music aka dubstep, but I fail to see how a genre of music can simply "die", especially with all the new producers in the scene.

That woodblock in your sig with slight reverb has been overdone, your 8 bars sounds like it has been looped over 6 times, that bass @2:02 sounds like a reesey bass KTN/Noisia/FeedMe would create and they've done it for years & years. You just started using that sound a couple months ago I'm assuming(unless you want to show me something of yours from '09 and before?)/talking shit on the people that have been doing it before you've even touched a DAW... You're putting out bland, boring, and generic music.

That whole wave of DnB (the Lifted crew) is one that has jumped to the next popular genre multiple times. From the harder DnB to fidget/electro house, to dubstep and I actually know Ewun/KTN.
They're good producers, but even smarter to do so to stay relevant and constantly touring, however I don't think any of them have ever shunned their roots, just said they got burnt out on them.
It's kind of sad that working with Deadmau5 or Skrillex netted them more recognition than Dieselboy, as I'd love to see a return to that sound with some of the production skills they've improved now, hell even an Evol Intent reunion, but such is music.
