Oh come on man, that's just BS. I knew someone who bring this up.garethom wrote:Like signing off on terrorist attacks that killed innocent people?nitz wrote: Death should never be a matter of comedy, unless the person in question did crazy stuff, i.e crimes against humanity. Nelson Mandela was the head of UmKhonto we Sizwe, (MK), the terrorist wing of the ANC and South African Communist Party. At his trial, he had pleaded guilty to 156 acts of public violence including mobilising terrorist bombing campaigns, which planted bombs in public places, including the Johannesburg railway station. He did a lot of good for the natives of South Africa, that's undoubtable, but it's almost never entirely good vs entirely bad. So many "good" characters from history have very dark sides. Two of the ANC’s biggest donors, in the 1990s, were Colonel Muammar Gaddafi of Libya and President Suharto of Indonesia . Not only did Mandela refrain from criticising their lamentable human rights records but he interceded diplomatically on their behalf, and awarded them South Africa ‘s highest honour.
Not all Jedis, though. It's thought that Qui-Gon Jinn was the first to reach this level of force wielding. He became immortal by being at peace with death. Something he was thought to have passed on to Yoda and his apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi. It's a feat that was sought after by Sith lords, most notably Darth Sidious. But the Sith's obsession with material wealth and absolute power kept them from reaching this level of understanding of life and death. It's the great irony in the Star Wars universe that those who most value immortality are incapable of achieving it.nowaysj wrote:Look at when Jedi's die, and then they become kind of shimmery and holographic.

Well, he admitted to that stuff at his trials, but yeah, ok. It's BS.nitz wrote:Oh come on man, that's just BS. Your last 2 sentence exactly - almost every huge public figure his done something inherently bad/wrong.
When margaret thatcher passed away, like my dad told me, she's did a lot loads of things good. But people hold remembers the poll tax - shit you're bound to make mistakes at on point, but that does mean sit on them and point at them every time. People making the joke song about her, shit my family heavily disagreed with her in their time about a number of things, but when she passed away it was unfortunately, not an event to start rinsing her.

Making a joke the passing of Nelson Mandela makes me too sensitive, arite great rational reasoning behind that one.garethom wrote:Well, he admitted to that stuff at his trials, but yeah, ok. Dude, you're too sensitive for me. That's it really. Nobody is going to stop making jokes. Good or bad person, I'll make a joke if I can think of one. I just don't take shit as seriously as you do I guess. Must be grim if you take every significant passing as hard you did with this one.
The problem with that theory is that his family would all have to be in on the lie..Electric_Head wrote:I think it's more tragic the way South African government dealt with his death.
Myself and many others believe he passed away some months ago but due to political tensions and the upcoming national elections, they chose to 'keep him alive' until it suited their agenda best.
This current news has coincidentally been released on the back of many damning reports of huge financial corruption by our current govt and President JZ in an effort to downsize the corruption and extreme money spending.
You call it a lie, his family calls it a mourning period.southstar wrote:The problem with that theory is that his family would all have to be in on the lie..Electric_Head wrote:I think it's more tragic the way South African government dealt with his death.
