Dubstep saved my life, guys. I was pretty depressed for a while until I played SSX, which has such a killer soundtrack. While playing, I heard "I Can't Stop" by Flux Pavilion, who is also my favourite artist. I never would have gotten into Dubstep if it wasn't for SSX (It's a surprise that I'm actually thanking EA for something other than FIFA) and Flux Pavillion. :Q:

this compilation + going to the release party for it being my first "rave" really. looking back it was easily the most psychadelic/drug oriented dubstep show i've ever been to (granted it was an underground)

Excision and Doctor P are others who have gained notoriety for making absolutely gash beats and will remain unacceptable answers to this thread's title question.

You can say what you like about Excision but this is still large, don't care what anyone says

I'm assuming that you meant to ask how "it" referring to dubstep saved my life, as "i" which would refer to you, didn't (EDIT: unless, you're Flux Pavilion. Which would excite me to fucking shit). Okay, cue dramatic music. :i: ("Hydra" by Fred V and Grafix seems to be working well here.)

I was depressed 16 year old who was worried about how the fuck I was going to get through in life. :( What depressed me more, was that I was doing horribly at school, and you know, the first taste of defeat feels like eating shit at the all you can eat buffet behind the port-a-potty. I was also constantly bullied by the other idiots, and wasn't liked much at school. Teachers were pissed, parents were pissed, and I was pissed at myself. :u: Video Games were my only escape from life at the time, and so I picked up SSX. I was dumbstruck listening to "I Can't Stop" by Flux Pavilion. :o The sounds were so fuckin' amazing, that I started to pay attention to all the other songs, with artists like Noisia, Two Door Cinema Club, Ocelot, Spor, The Qemists, Camo & Krooked, Amon Tobin, Felguk, Example and more. I decided then and there that I wanted to bring joy to people like those guys did to me, and so, I'm here now, one of the very few people in my country who love Dubstep to fuckin' death. I have no idea what I would have done to myself if I hadn't played that game. :corndance: :cornlol: :corndance: :cornlol: :corndance: :cornlol: :corndance:

big ups for pulling yourself out of a depression.
I advise you to dig deeper, music wise. there's so much better music out there (although some of the artists you mentioned are really good at what they're doing) that will reward you with eternal joy. <3

I'm full of love today.

To be honest, all Dubstep, "Bro'ed up", Deep or otherwise, is Dubstep. Over here, people laugh at us for hating on a track cause it's loud, or minimal and other, what I say, trivial reasons. If a track is bad, it's because it's bad. If it's awesome, it's because it's awesome. I embrace it all, that's why I also listen to guys like Benga, Burial, Skream and Lowryder, which, I would admit is not as much as you guys over there would listen to, but I find that all this Dubstep is all good, except for the horrible fact that both spans of the genre are actually suffering from this split in opinions.

I think you've confused Dubstep with gradual hormonal balancing tbh.
