hahahahahahahahah... that's no rave

tbh I'd rather stay home and cry than be surrounded by a bunch of greasy circle-jerking twats in ralph lauren shirts all night

has funky house brought back the kristal and coke vibes as well?

The way i see it is that a fair few old garage heads are trying to take it back to the way it was... only thing is garage as a word turns a lot of people off. a fair few of these new house tunes are pretty close to older gare, say 95 times. there is also an emerging sunday scene, something the old garage was supposedly built on. i think its a good look that the uk is creating some soulful house/ dance music again. after garage faded away it all went a bit funny, hip hop got popular and there wasnt a great deal of nice, subtle, musical uk dance music. i dunno. rambling. but the way i see it is that this music is generally alright, i like the supa d and circle podcasts a lot.

thing is that soulful often means awful singing on top of good music.

I always thought FWD was supposed to be a counter-reaction to all the glitz and glamour of the garage scene...

Well yes, obviously.

My point is that from what I've read, FWD is supposed to be the alternative to the blinged out cristal nights UK Garage are dominated by. If this is the case, surely bringing "funky house" with attitudes like those on Perempay's myspace would be the polar opposite of what FWD is trying to achieve?
