Yeah, shame on me for having a good job

Shame on you for living your whole life without once using your education. If I were your boss, I'd fire you.

I went back to school because of the job market. Some places won't even look at your resume unless you have at least a bachelors. I kind of wish I would have finished it the first time around even though it was a worthless degree (music degree, at least for the job market, not for me). At least I am learning some new stuff and I already have a new career started.
At a certain point, it sometimes doesn't even matter what degree you have, just the fact that you have a degree. It's hard to get your resume to human eyes with all of the heuristic algorithm filtering that goes on these days. Those systems will toss out your resume before you can even get it to the next level because they don't read a degree on your resume.

I don't know how it is in the UK, but in the US you have to achieve your undergraduate requirements in addition to your major for a bachelors degree. These requirements include a wide range of subjects including history, English literature, maths, science, philosophy, arts and humanities, economics etc.

ahh yeah for my degree we had to do 10 credits (out of 120) in something other than our course, it had to be a science of some sort though which i thought kind of defeated the point
