More about singing the same thing over every track with corny lyrics than the style. You know I'm just winding you up though man.wolf89 wrote:I've never heard any metal tracks that have a pretentious Mancunian croon aimlessly barely in tune and in time about beautiful cows like Meat Is Murder does.garethom wrote:Don't you like metal though?wolf89 wrote:singing exactly the same thing over every track complete with corny as fuck lyrics.
Re: Best music scene in the world?
ok Wolf-but the fact that you're saying there's only one good band implies the rest are at least "average" which isn't a term that fits say "The Smiths"-what' is your opinion on "James"?

because most gigs where in the uk and most of the producers where from russia and poland and then raiden decided to try to tranform his offkey label that was exclusively technoid and the main one that ran with that sound into the opposite which was a label named voodoo that instead was inspired by south american fifties filmscore exotica
.... which sounds like a weird move but tbh both lables where super sick and ahead of influence
which reminds me i have to check out what raidens doing now
it died with offkeyidk what's happening today with that stuff (bar the sect)
figured most guys moved on to crossbreed

Re: Best music scene in the world?
in all fairness there's some cringey vegan metalcore out there. swear i've heard some song with gang vocals that were like "what do we want?! animal liberation!!"wolf89 wrote:I've never heard any metal tracks that have a pretentious Mancunian croon aimlessly barely in tune and in time about beautiful cows like Meat Is Murder does.garethom wrote:Don't you like metal though?wolf89 wrote:singing exactly the same thing over every track complete with corny as fuck lyrics.
as for full blown cringe there's always the depressive black metal scene which for the most part is fucking terrible. not to mention all those power metal bands with songs about how awesome metal is and dragon slaying, but c'mon can't take anyone who listens to that past the age of 14 seriously

wolf89 wrote:I'm not being a snob. It's not high brow vs low brow music here. It's about bands that lack any content (and The Smiths who destroy any content they may have thanks to Morrisey being the main delivery method) combined with the flawed argument that appealing to the everyday knob on the street makes music instantly above any sort of criticism when the everyday knob on the street also thinks Carling, Hollyoaks and The Sun newspaper are also acceptable things to enjoy.
