Too many 'liberals' who think white knighting is the only way they'll stand out.

Society as a whole seems to jump from one scapegoat to another

Focussing in hatred of a celebrity helps people forget the inadequacies in their own life

Probs not butthurt, a lot of people hate him though so this is the perfect excuse to kick up a fuss going TOLD YA, HES A tnuc! Same thing happened with Suarez, that would never have created the hype it did if it was anybody else.. but cause hes a prick it was just what tha haterz wanted to make some noise.

The bbc is not a dictatorship.
That's true, it's not a dictatorship, but the director general has internal rules and guidelines to follow, just as every other employee. He has to treat Clarkson as just another employee or the very foundation of the whole organisation starts to fall apart.

We've gone circular here it seems

If people think Clarkson is a tnuc, then don't watch him.

The mass media has seen to it that there are enough channels to choose from, surely people can avoid the ne he's on for however long he's on for.

Nah we haven't gone circular cause I said before in a discussion about liking someone (or thinking they're a tnuc) saying "don't watch him" is perfectly valid. Discussing whether his actions were right or wrong and whether the conclusions were right or wrong has nothing to do with whether people watch him or not. My point was loads of people don't like him.. so if he does fuck up, people will jump on it.

Moral of the story: if you're gunna be a tnuc, don't get caught slippin' G

I'm gonna refer back to the article I posted. I think everybody should have fair and equal treatment, and it's only right he gets fired for physically and verbally abusing a colleague, just as every other employed person in the history of jobs and working would be.

You can choose to not watch Top Gear and still have an opinion about how the BBC treats its workers.

Tbh the most depressing thing is that more people signed a petition on this than real issues. I suppose public apathy is nothing new though.

Yeah big up Jesus for dying for our sins and netting us a public holiday in the process.

Also, hot cross buns.

You two gents constantly forget the idea that one (with social standards) could want others not to be subjected to this 'stealthily racially toned classicist operation' that bbc have had going for years relating to automobiles :6:

I mean you outright neglect that as the principle for even having the discussion, which is probably all those againsts' main issue

the climate topgear urges on

You are basicly saying: I'm not meant to care about others

It's obviously about protecting those that only need a slight push to become more of a concervative racist or whatever - that poor rightwing segment that loves the class system
- people who are right on the verge of thinking the opinions expressed aren't jokes

those who might not see a joke for a joke, but just side with a upperclass super lad that doesn't have to respect anything and who could buy an island and just fuck off, because he is on tv

it is not the fault of a tv channel (any channel for that matter) to have to think on behalf of their viewers

if someone is watching top gear (for example) and taking it deadly serious then more fool them

we cant sugercoat everything with disclaimers because the general populace aren't drawing the 'right' conclusions about a show's tone

no but it can be stopped like it just has been which was correct empatic behaviour from a public funded service

cant spread sugarcoated hatred anymore

see what i did there ?

The only way we can make dumb people less dumb, is if we put in place stuff to make sure someone isn't deliberately going for them. That could be an idea of cooperate responsibility if common sense or decency has been thrown out the window like you seem to assume it has.
