Yep, it's one of my current favourites. Possibly a little sentimental for some, but it has it's moments of action, and it is incredibly well shot (Yamada)

I've got it on the Sky+. just not got round to watching it yet but have heard good things about it (midnighteye liked it and that's normally good enough for me http://www.midnighteye.com/reviews/twilsamu.shtml ). There's Hidden Blade as well by the same director isn't there?

Yes, I can see that viewpoint, and I thought someone would have to point that out.

But actually I quite like the film for a couple reasons..

No doubt due to the lavish budget expended on it, it has great costumes, amazing locations, and it is quite well historically researched. And above all it's a good looking and atmospheric piece of cinema.

OK, Tom Cruise is not great, granted.

Yep, not seen it but I've heard it's a good chimaera flick..

been looking to check it out.
