				The funny thing about MySpace is that what goes on behind the scenes is the stuff of an advertiser's wet dream.  You literally have millions of users willifully giving you a glimpse of the spending habits, personal preferences, (and in some cases) innermost desires already broken down into their demographics (age, gender, location).  Compound that w/ the fact that MySpace practically caters to the most prized demographic of all (18-34 year olds), and you suddenly have data which marketing firms are willing to shell out big bucks for.
In the past you would have to pay people for that kind of information, in the form of marketing surveys and focus groups.  Ironically, now people are practically giving this information away in droves.

				same applied to last.fm. insane how much that thing will be worth in a few years once all the data really starts cumulating. just imagine... the detailed listening stats of a wide swathe of the mp3 generation
