T++ is a more recent name for dynamo i think, so check his stuff out. Did a lovely remix of Shackleton's death is not final- very minimal. The other stuff i've heard by him as Dynamo is more IDM/Electronica but still interesting.xal54x wrote:Heard T++ name a few times, know where I can hear him/her/it?mixing with plastic wrote:big the dubstep/techno/wotever u want to call it buisness. better add shackleton and t++ to that list and of course mala, theres plenty house/technoish influences in his tunes.

There's something that's been half bothering me for a while, and then I saw a Blackdown (who else?) piece that puts it into words better than I could:
I do like the Berlin/Bristol dubby techno/dubstep axis, I really do, but sometimes I have reservations. It’s a fine line between dubbed out and uninspiring. It’s a fine line between techy and rigid techno. It’s a fine line between headspace and head in the sand: at its best dubstep should grab you by the balls not drift you out to sea.
So yeah, sometimes I worry that this stuff is going to get into an 'intelligent drum and bass' scenario and end up being just as restricted and predictable as the bashy floor fillers - just restricted to being subtle and tasteful and not too obvious rather than restricted to being MASSIVE AND HEAVY ALL THE TIME.
Don't see that happening too much yet, though, there's still plenty of people willing to mix in some rudeness with the depth and vice versa. I just thought I'd stick it out there in a spirit of continuous self-criticism...

music is alive, let it manifest freely and it'll keep breeding until everyone gets a nice pet to play with and feel happy. put it in a formulaic cage and it will die

never heard of dynamo. T++ been around for days w/chain reaction releases as resilent and many a collaboration w/monolake under his belt...concept_ wrote:T++ is a more recent name for dynamo i think, so check his stuff out. You can do what you like, noone's stopping you. But if what you like is killing off any sort of edgeyness or drama or excitement in your music in favour of tastefully bland chillout music, don't expect much love from me, or, it seems, "this guy."miss_molinari wrote:seen as though this guy knows what dubstep "should" do, does he know what i should do??
if anything restricts the sound, in my opinion its people saying what the sound should or should not do.
2c.

i think ur looking at 'unfunkable terminal psychosis'. I type of disease that has already spread throughout central europe n other parts of the world.
Should get it looked at mate,
heard there was a man they call 'Mala' who sorts that kinda shit out
west is best!
Yeah, that's the prescription I'm on...ct&d wrote:Slothrop wrote: Does anyone else get this, or am I just terminally unfunky?![]()

(pardon the cheek)
But yeah, if I hear a Coki tune followed by a Mala tune (say) I'll skank on the halfstep of the Coki and then bounce in 4/4 to the Mala. Whereas if I hear the Mala tune first, I'll pick up on the double speed elements of Coki's beats too, and bounce around to both of them.
