yeah fair enough if its what you like, but it just seems like a lot of fuss over a looped bass line, a beat thats so sparse its hardly even there, and a trance acapella.

and it does seem like people are brown nosing a bit, little emoticons of a guy bowing down and worshiping.. :|

in my opinion it sounds like he was attempting to do a deep/moody tune in the Burial style. while i think Skream is very capable of creating something grand in this direction, this tune sounds very unfinished, and is pretty uneventful until the 2nd part.

So what would you do to finish it off ?

no point taking over a thread that skream used to promote his new track with your negative opinions.

It's not taking over a thread, it's just saying what we think, get over it, fuck.. what is it with pretty much everyone on this forum being reluctant to ever say if they don't like anything, or are you so completley mindless that you just lap up everything these people produce.

nh juss sayin say it on like...that other thead about it or summit. guys made it now. he aint gona change it to the criticism. i dint like it at 1st...thought the drum pattern was too minimal n basic (basically crap)...but its just grown on me massively n i think its cold.

Exactly.

It's called : " feedback ".

This forced positivity that I see on the forum is becoming more and more problematic.

Feedback is exactly whats needed. Doesnt matter who you are. Not every trak is gonna be a banger. Telling people everything they do is the shit is whats really shit.

The fact he put it up on myspace and started a thread, to me suggests it's a work in progress and depending on feedback will depend on whether it's a direction worth pursuing or a tune that warrants spending the time to finish.

Id like to see skream start an anonymous dummy myspace and post a thread linking to a tune and see if people still think its the shit not knowing it's him ?

What do y'all think would happen ?

he'd probably get ignored with this tune beacuse ppl wouldn't give it the time of day to listen all the way thru....say he put up rutten or glamma or anything like that b4 ppl had heard it he wud defo get attention

sick work skream. no brown nosing here because to be honest, some of your most acclaimed tunes i really dont feel at all. but ive got to say this track is fucking deep, would love to hear more stuff like this.

in particular the faint but long reverb on the most high pitched note really does it for me, and the timing of when the breakbeat comes in is just sweet. does the breakbeat part make up a large portion of the full tune, cus its been cut short for myspace aint it?

you should try your hand at straight up minimal techno, for shits and giggles if nothing else, youd do well at it.

honestly, i'm sure Skream digs on constructive criticism. it helps an artist at the end of the day.

if everyone just said "that's brilliant!", and never spoke up if they thought it was sub-par, where would this sound end up? probably stale and uninspired like drum and bass nowadays.

Not sure Skream was asking for any feedback...
Looked to me like he was notifying the forum that there was a new tune pon de player ;)

Personally, I'm always thankful when an artists decides to share their work. This one not excluded!
