SEEN.ovesen wrote:Funny, because to me, that's what dubstep is all about. The future is now, but it has ben formed by the last 50 years of popularculture. Because the future is now, there is no tommorow, and the music will be dark, heavy and trippy. Dubstep is here!
Allways tripping at raves, dubstep has never been "real" party music to me. More a deep introvert escape, from the bleakness of reality, but a dark and sad one. To me, it seems like earlier psychedelic rave music doesn't really fit anymore. Back then it was about the far away future, now it's about the NOW!
What I'm trying to say is, kick back and enjoy your records once more, but from a more psychedelic perspective. It's all there!
And Kode9 is the trippiest, sci-fi'est of them all, if you ask me.
QFT.
THIS IS TRUE.

All the artists mentioned are all good and all and may be psychedelic but when I think psychedelic I think of the more traditional psy sound such as phutureprimitive or shamanic technology, so with dubstep I am thinking more of artists such as Bird of Prey, Droid Sector & NiT GriT.
Any other dubstep artists that come close to that sound that you can think of?

it's not precisely dubstep, but my buddy Bird of Prey writes some really gorgeous, spacey, psychedelic tunes:

you won't find a lot of the typical "dubstep" sounds, but it's beautiful music

just noticed yr sig - are you part of basscamp? cuz I'm pretty sure my tune Inception was dropped during the Samples/Sugarpill set at basscamp this year, and if ya dig the psy sound, you'd probly dig it:xzentradi wrote:All the artists mentioned are all good and all and may be psychedelic but when I think psychedelic I think of the more traditional psy sound

Yeah I'm part of Basscamp. I played Tues. at 2AM. Unfortunately I missed Samples/Sugarpill, hehe so much to do at Burning Man I had to venture out a bit even though we had the sickest lineup =)Omega Dub wrote:

Your tracks are sick! I have a couple already. Inception is definitely that sound I'm lookin for. I'll take a copy if you can spare one.
