finally had about an hour and a half to blaze and sit on a train and really listen to this, gotta say its totally dope . the gamelan stuff in the first track is just ... perfect. i knew this mix would be good but damn

also my good friend and partner-in-crime/rhythm lived in indonesia most of his life and he really dug this mix

me and him play alot of wierd funky world music, indo/afro/latin/jungle/funk/jazz , once we get some stuff mastered ill be sure to link you and any other connossieurs of good music from everywhere

i love this! ive never heard such an organic touch in this field, juxtaposing the vernacularity and urban tribal sound of dubsteps etc.
one of the most successful experiment by dj from serious musical insight and background like sound-art or lowercase i reckon.

big up,

funny because the "gamelan" stuff on this project actually came from one of those touristy "sundanese relaxation" CD's... :D but hey sometimes you do get quality stuff on cheesy CD's and it fit my purpose. on the next volume expect some "proper" gamelan sickness :)

please do keep me posted on your projects... i am waiting, eagerly but patiently, for new sonic waves from places like Indonesia...

and happy that some of you are enjoying this, thanks for the kind words.

thanks bruv. and no you are not crazy: i only used the intro drum break of that track, before it actually starts, re-edited and cut up in 3 different ways for transitional purposes. thats why it is listed 3 times but not even recognizable.

any ideas where i might be able to find music in this vein? do you know any artist or recording names? too broad an area to search for only knowing name of style, and there is a lot of Laotian and Thai pop to wade through to find the more traditional material... any help greatly appreciated!!!
