Are the Pioneer HD-1000s good for producing? cuz there good for Djing and i have a pair

Sony MDR-V6
Pros
- good frequency response (supposedly 5-30,000 hz)
- good isolation
- broadcast (radio & tv) standard for several decades
- they last for fucking ever
Cons
- a bit tight fitting... physical fatigue can come into play after a few hours
- everyone loves to hate on 'em
- supposedly the faux-plasti-vinyl covering on the cups wears off. it certainly did on my MDR-600's... but my MDR-V6's haven't shown the slightest sign of wear over the past year.
Price
- £45 used
- £80 - 100 new
I've done some research on these. Alessandro MS-1 http://www.alessandro-products.com/headphones.html are supposedly Grado models (some say close to sr80, some say close to sr125) modified/revamped to produce flatter frequency response and they are basically the Grado for musicians. I'm looking forward to get the MS-1. Anyone on this forum using them? Would like to hear your opinions.s & m wrote:do you know what model he had? Was thinking about these, what would they be like for DJing? Need some nice headphones for producing and DJing in, ie flat freq response and a bit of comfort/closed back. Would it be better to buy cheaper headphones to DJ with then buy monitor headphones, or buy something that is good for both like HD25s. Great value headphones.
Think they are Audio Technica not AKG though.
I have the ATH-M50s. £100, ridiculously good and uncoloured too, so good for production.

What about the AKG K270's? Had a listen to them the other day, and admittedly didn't sound as good as the 240s but were pretty nice. Haven't found any DT770s to listen to yet but am on the lookout. Closed back, flat headphones are hard to find. Only other option I've seen is the Sony MDR9506s, which almost sound too good to my untrained ear.
