Thanks for the encouragement peeps, I haven’t smoked since the 31st and its getting a bit hard, the cigarette is strangely the harder…my friend has given up with me…but where I have been ill recently I suppose that has made it easier…

Hope all you quitters can break the habit!!!

:D

i quit smoking weed on sept 1st

i, like you, smoked every day.. anywhere from a 10s upwards.

after 4 years of hardcore smoking and the 7/8 yrs of light smoking which preceded it.. my brain had taken some serious damage.

i didn't notice it at the time because i was always around other smokers

but eventually i began to notice small differences, such as my temper becoming shorter, my confidence falling and my general alertness dropping. i reached a point where i was high all day every single day.

ive smoked once since september. there are certain friends who i have where smoking is just a ritual. we have all smoked together since we were 14. its an unwritten rule. they live all over the uk now and are tied down with girlfriends/jobs - but when we meet up once every 5-8 months we have a drink up/smoke up. these are the only times i smoke weed these days.

although i feel much better - the long term effects are still present and i don't think they'll ever disappear. i really wish i had never smoked, but still miss the feeling immensely.

good luck quitting, its worth it mate.

Ah I've been thinking about it hard too. It must be the time of year.

I keep thinking will I be a different person if I quit, will I get on better with my girl, I don't wanna be a smoker when my little girl gets old enough to know what Im doing, etc etc then I think ah fuck it have a spliff and I wont think about it !

You gonna really wanna give up and I'm about 50 / 50 at the moment.

After about 4-6 days you'll get what we call "the dreams"

At the time you'll shit yourself and dread going asleep after the first time you have one, but you'll look back and laugh your tits off at some of the stuff you dreamt of.

Its worth quitting to experience those alone, trust me!
stop smoking weed and dream, then you'll wonder why you ever took acid to begin with.....hahaa

Off the dope and wine meself
only by not getting any
and not being around others who do.

Find that one effective substitute is:
conversation
(bizarre!)

Best reason not to resume indulgence:
I'm doing more stuff.
