rah thats some deep lifestyle man sounds idyllic

being a student was the best thing ever, hedonism and education (if indeed they need be seperated) made a wonderful combination

masters has to be linked

currently working as a legal researcher on a government office training programme (on european State Aid law for anyone that cares)

as for this whole debate, i think clearly it depends who you are, i personally get a bit restless and demotivated without a degree of structure and purpose to life, but some find it much easier to find satisfaction that way... i think its worth being wary of too easily ascribing your own individual values and preferences on others

but for me, fuck working a job i dont care about, that doesnt stimulate me, or contradicts my values, i dont plan to stop switching jobs until i find something that hits the spot, regardless of financial considerations

it depends : if you have kids and they depend on your salary, then you will stuck on a job that is not the ideal one.

same reason why there are whores, drug dealers, ....

I enjoyed being a student, was the easiest time of my life. Now, I dont give a flying fook about my job, I get paid well to sit on the internet all day and end up spending it all on nothing but 12s and rent. Still, i dont plan to switch jobs until i find something i properly care about....and guaranteed when that comes around ill have half the time and dosh to spend on vinyl....

And yes my lady really wants to get preggers...

Design: Mainly Print, packaging, branding and a little bit of web.

But im better at thinkin up concepts and working with a group of designers. It is great to have the advantage of working in a group with people with different strengths in design e.g. Typography, animation, 3D, illustration. I think working like that you get a better finished product. Its all about taking critisim and bein able to open your mind to other possibilities. In a group like that the possibilites are endless! I wish i was back at college/uni again. I dont have the luxury of workin like that anymore.

word to the wise, get one of those funky numberplates in a fancy font, the cameras throw a wobbly and you -probably- won't get charged

interesting thread.

its cool to see such a variety of people from such diverse
fields in this forum.........all showing love for tha music

mad respect!

as for me, i work in public education.
kids age 12-18 that are caught with weapons, drugs, etc.
convicted of assault, theft, truency, etc. at their normal
comprehensive schools from which they are expelled,
then they are sent to my campus.

i teach art (three sections of visual/performing arts)
and computers (two sections of multimedia literacy)
music (among other things) is a big part of our curriculum
given its strong ties to expression and identity.
my goal is simply to open their minds to different ideas
its intense work
but i wouldnt be content elsewhere

BOH!
