If I could hear a sub in there, then maybe I'd be a little more enthusiastic about the tune. In the mean time, it's still midrange cack.

Get a subwoofer, man

Hugh wrote:Fancy calling a tune so rhythmically perfect as simple city 'crap'. It's so fucking ignorant. And ive heard this on the subdub vs exodus soundsystem and it wasnt painful at all. Discouraging people from exploring a certain type of sound just because you don't personally like it is a bit daft imo
You would feel bass playing the Noddy theme tune on the Irration Steppaz system. I'm not against people learning how to synthesis sounds at all. I posted several posts with hints on how the sound could be achieved. The thing is, the sound in question has no beauty to it, no soul.... It's the audio equivelant of staring at a concrete wall.

That tune smashes it and built so well - and mid ranging crap!? when half the people on here think bouncing a saw wave over and over with little tweaks deserves more respect than something all built through a synth!
I'm not much of a fan of hype dubstep but that tune is something special...
The joke is, you've pretty much described the 'bass' in this song. Face it, it's vanilla, it's old & its over used...
Lojik wrote:I've played that tune out I can assure you there is PLENTY of sub bass on there and it doesn't sound too high freq at all ;)
So Skream layered a sine wave under his midrange cack....... It's a shame he chose to ruin the song with such a sub-standard sound then (no puns intended)

If he had used an instrument instead mid range layered saws, the song would sound mellow instead of generic.

The frequency response on my monitors is 56hz to 20khz. Surely that is adequate? Buy me a sub and I'll happily reevaluate the song..... :D

To clarify my point, I've uploaded a short segment from the song. One has been highpassed at 200hz, the other lowpassed at 200hz.

Are you really trying to tell me that the sound isn't midrange??? :o Image

Righto!

Another Skream tune for ya to analeyes // mock... and question about bitc crusher // distortion...

Skream dropped these teeth grinders at FWD last sunday, have a listen here: http://core.thomaslaupstad.com/skream-l ... m-dubstep/ (4:59) & (18:30)

Whose using it and can explain how and what there using for good results...?

Using Reason 4 and Live7, (albino, NI, wotever synth) Skream4 is quite good but still not quite bit rate crushing, and cant seem to get anything good out the redux in live...

You can kinda tell (hopefully) that the synth is split and one is bit crushed? and the other clean, well, dirty as f*ck but you know what i mean!

** And it had plenty of sub bass at FWD !!! Skream always fills the freq range. Get out of yer mums house n go n hear these tunes played properly on a decent system

Ive just been trying OhmForce QuadFrohmage and can see some potential

Skream has layered the tune well.

Sine wave sub bass 0hz-70hz

Kick drum 70hz - 200hz

Pure utter shite - 200hz +

Which 'top friends' are you refering to?

Apart from Clipz, none of it is generic wobble crap like Skream is playing.

Fuck me, after this if I see Skream on a line up I ain't going..... :o :(
