Plastician wrote:For the record (and this is the last time i will ever speak about snoop dogg on this forum) Snoop Dogg's people have been accepting beats from me and various dubstep producers and labels for possible usage on his next album.
He is very much a fan of the stuff he's hearing. Just because the man is a record breaking musician doesn't mean everything he does is motivated by money.
This whole thing started because snoop posted some stuff on his twitter about dubstep - in particular the chase and status track.
Nobody has even mentioned that since he twittered the track, he has also linked his twitter followers to tracks by Om Unit and a couple of other dubstep producers. These are not even things I or anyone else has forwarded onto him, he has been scouring the web and listening to radio shows and tracks off his own back in his spare time.
Give the man a break.
+1

I know he's renown for blending grim and dubstep and i like it when you does stuff with next hype and real successful black men and all that stuff, but personally i found it a bit too much with those 2 particular accapellas.
But fair play to him for doing it, just wondered what everyone else was saying about this?
Also if Plastician reads this, let me know how the gig in Birmingham was.

By the way dj's have been playing accapella's over the top of tunes for years, sasha pretty much invented the practice playing pop vocals over the top of piano house records in the late 80's/early 90's @: the hacienda and shelly's in stoke. It divided people then and it still does...
Any sort of creative tweaking to make a set unique is a winner for me, adding a vocal hook to a genre that is dominated by instrumentals breaks a set up and gives it focal points to work around. Plus the ladies love a bit of a sing along
