 really... cheers, i didnt realise...

Funny how its no where else though and Red Eye always seem to get stuff way before anywhere else...

All a company need do is know how many units they are going to order then set that as a pre order limit. 'Outside The Box' be be a pre-order already by that system right? Its a fabrication. Just so people don't get too scared, that they will have no other chances to get this record is all im saying...

A lot of stores get release information (like the release sheets by ST Holdings) week before the "public". In other words, Red Eye probably knows WHEN they're going to get Return 2 Space and HOW MUCH they're going to receive.
So they KNOW they can put a PART of the total they're going to get on pre-order so people who choose to pre-order it are sure they're going to get a copy. When all the orders get in the part that was up for pre-order will be shipped and the other part will be sold like any other release.

Also, all the other stores probably know release dates, quantities etc too, not only Red Eye. If Chemical Records did pre-orders too, they would play the same filthy but legit game.

the only way i can see pre-order being illegal is if they dont know how many copies they're going to receive, which seems fairly plausible, if a record store could simply order as many copies of tunes they wanted then they'd just buy ALL of a certain tune surely, and corner the market, and since that rarely if ever occurs i can see it being the case that they just get given x amount of copies, and sell them on that basis

so pre-ordering could very well be illegal, in any case, fuck it, i ordered several for me n friends!

Buying the whole batch of a product could be legal idk, but the distros won't allow a store to buy such huge quantities.

Its a very different thing ordering something by mail order in essence (red eye) than buying a physical product there and then though (BM Soho) surely?

She probably meant that she couldnt get a physical copy prior to the release date id have thought

man, I go ONE DAY without checking Redeye... sheesh...

oh well. Preorder is one thing, actually having the product in stock is another... I'm sure if I can't get one from them then Boomkat or Chemical will have it.

they definitely will, no one on here should worry as long as they have money when it comes out

i swear people just love to panic for no reason, everyone will be able to get a copy!

and the subject of record shops buying all the stock, yeah, its not illegal but distro's wouldnt let it happen (like the person said) i dont think i was implying it was illegal for them to buy all the stock, i meant that it could be illegal in terms of them 'selling' a greater amount of pre-orders than they eventually get of the record in stock, which would theoretically be possible if they simply didnt know how many there were to be given by the distro

There is going to be about 3000-4000 of these pressed and considering they're about £18 they hardly are going to be sold out in a day. Guy at red eye said they had about 110 copies for pre order, therefore chemical, juno, boomkat etc will have about the same. Also Red eye, chemical and the rest will have more in after they sell out. Don't worry.
But like people have been saying have your money ready and bag on sight, there will definitely be plenty of places to buy this from.

OMG!!! May 1st Release - This Year???

Good things come to those who wait, and it won't be much longer.

I find it almost poetic that he loses his bag o' dubs so close to the release of the most amazing EP the world has ever heard (so far). The music has truly been freed, in a really good and a really bad way. Such is the nature of life I suppose.
