Yeah I'm not saying they are, but it'd be nice if the UKF channel had a bit more variety. So many people (read: teenaged morons) treat UKF as the final word on what is and isn't dubstep, as seen earlier in this thread when someone posted KM - Badman in a Starcraft forum thread and was told it wasn't dubstep by someone using a Wikipedia quote as evidence (of course, the Wikipedia page is pretty spot on so he was only working against himself). If UKF uploaded a bigger variety of stuff it'd be great for the scene. Not necessarily Kryptic Minds and such, cos the main UKF subscriber base wouldn't be able to hear the bass in it, but at least some Kromestar, Jakes, Coki, Phaeleh, Distance, etc.garethom wrote:I'm not a fan of UKF, but they're hardly gonna have Kryptic Minds b2b Icicle headlining their event are they? Those that wanna associate with UKF aren't looking for that. People would moan if they didn't have any of those sort of producers/DJs playing, and people moan if they do have them playing it.Maccaveli wrote:I'd hardly call letting a bunch of deeper artists play in room 2 at one of their events supporting it. Real support would be uploading a wider variety of tunes to the Youtube channel where each upload is guaranteed hundreds of thousands of views. Do they ever do that? No. Closest I've seen was one of Truth's more tearout tunes and a couple of Benga bitscmgoodman1226 wrote:http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=225978 -> why don't you check that out, because it was a UKF Bass Culture event... But how could this be Jboy? because i thought that you said UKF was all terrible (and I assumed you were right on account of how knowledgeable you are about everything else)? There's no way that they support the deeper side of things too... It couldn't be...espire wrote:That was the Getdarker lineup.1point5 wrote:joker, kryptic minds, distance, darkside, youngsta, tunnidge, icicle, cyrus all played at the UKF Bass Culture event last year...
They know their niche, and they're working it well. Everyone knows what to expect from them, so if you like them, check it out, if you don't, just don't look.
