Just never disappoints. What a legendary film.

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning."

Oh and I also watched True Grit not too long ago. Really enjoyed that!
The redux was great, especially the scene at the end where he is in the village.
They have the ceremony where they hack up the ox.
The music, the atmosphere, the visuals, all amazing.

I'm cool with all kinds or gore and nastiness, but the ox getting hacked up in Apocalypse Now never ceases to disturb me. Dark.

Carlito's Way.

Stone cold classic. I mean, surely everyone has seen this by now? I don't think I have to write a review.
10/10 (even though his misses orders a diet pepsi in a bar when it hadn't been invented yet.)
"If you can't see the angles no more, you're in trouble."

Total Recall
Image
Again, another classic but for different reasons. About 70% of the enjoyment from this film is from nostalgia, so if you didn't grow up with this film then I can easily see you not liking it.
Animatronics are spot on, cheesy one liners galore and Sharron Stone in her prime.
8/10
Best quotes - "consider that a divorce", "screw you, benny" and "open your mind".

Oh, and the face Michael Ironside pulls when he's shooting is priceless.

ooooo i struggled with this one

i think maybe cos i'd unintentionally seen parodies of it way before i ever saw the film i couldn't take pacino seriously at bits

the bit right at the end is SO corn-ball

'no room in this city for big hearts like ours, sarryyyy babehhh...'

lawl

'tirrrrred babeh... tirrrrrrred...'

might have to rewatch actually

Yeah, I can totally see where you're coming from. This film has been imitated to shreds so perhaps the original message/content doesn't pack as much of a punch as it used to.
If you're going to give it another chance, try to concentrate more on the struggle between good and evil, the swapping of roles in Pacino and Penns characters and what drove each of them to seek a different individual M.O.

The real deal is Commando b2b Red Heat

Commando is the manliest movie ever made. Arnold wrecking up shit, busting bare oneliners and wrecking up shit
And Red Heat, well you got Walter Hill on the directing, James Belushi b2b Arnold - Russian Arnold wrecking up shit in Russia and Chicago. Fuck yeah.
